i have seen what you are talking about...Would it help to know you are not the only one?
I would go with the vinegar rinse on yours - not the lemon juice. it reacts with the sun and will make the dark hair look funky. I am blonde and won`t even use it because it dries my fine hair out.
My oldest sister has a patch of those dark hairs on her head in an area about the size of the palm of your hand. She has perm solution combed thru them to help break them down and make them behave. Your stylist would know how to do this -- it`s like a straightening, using perm solution. I use it on my husband to take the frizz out of his naturally curly hair.
Hair type: fine but thick; natural blonde with 15% grey
I have no idea about the dark course hair but to make your hair shine. Try 1/4 cup of lemon juice to 1/2 cup of water for light hair. Or 1/4 cup vinegar added to 1/2 cup water for dark hair. Use as a final rinse. Also rinsing your hair in cool water adds shine. Hope this helps.
When I was born I had black hair. The black hair fell out and I grew beautiful golden curly locks. I always have had fine but thick hair. At about the age of 14 my hair gradually started getting darker and at 16 I started getting highlights. I`ve also gradually lost the curl and now have the type of wave that just makes hair flip up all over in abnormal ways.
Ok. So now you have the history. Let me tell you about my hair now. The most traumatic part is that I`ve moved twice in the last year and at each new hair stylist I have become the center of attn. for the whole salon as they have never seen a head of hair like mine. First of all my hair is lighter underneath than on top. Second, I have some very fine hair and some very course hair - the fine outnumbering the course. The fine hair is blonde while the course hairs are almost black.
While in college I managed the situation by having short layered looks that capitalized on the "messy" trend. However, now that I`m in the professional world I need something more conservative. I continue to get highlights which is a great solution for my color problems. The hard part is finding a hairstyle to conceal the course hairs that sort of "pop" up out of the fine hair. Right now I`m letting my hair grow with the thought that the weight of longer hair will help keep the more unruly hairs in check. A perm is out of the question.
Any suggestions? Anyone know why I`m getting dark course hairs? Also I need a good product that will make my hair shine more without looking greasy as my hair has also become more dull.
