Sorry, I haven't been on for a couple of days. Thanks again for all the input/praise!
For the poster who asked, by "open braids" I just mean synth braids that are
only braided about two inches down, then rubber banded. The rest of the hair hangs loose. They look similar to pinch braids, but aren't quite as secure.
Also, I realized on rereading your post that I recognized your writing style (and smiling face) from your old blog. I had to go Google you to make sure. Good to know you're still writing!
Hi ladies! I don't post here that often (mainly because I have more to learn than to share) but I can assure you that I lurk like an obsessive freak.
Anyway, I just got my gorgeous brown-black Thermo yesterday and couldn't wait to put it in. First of all, I have MEGA-short hair. Observe:
Because my hair is spiky on top and therefore can't realistically blend, I had to do individual open braids on the crown. Luckily, I don't mind having braids exposed (though the shiny little clear rubberbands aren't my favorite look.) I HATE doing braids, but the Thermo was cooperative!
Then I put in the rest with Protac. I'd never used the 'Tac before and was surprised by how easy it was. However, my real hair is so short that I think the tapes were way too obvious. I had to LG some wefts in strategic places to cover the tapes. Next time I'll probably use LG all over.
Cut and razored some layers, and here's the final look:
I think I used about 7 ounces total...it doesn't look like that much, but keep in mind I had no natural hair to blend with it!
The Elite Thermofiber feels like BUTTAH. It's easily the best hair I've ever used. I plan to keep it straight at my husand's request...he doesn't really dig my usual big curly weaves! I just hope I can get the Protac to last at least 5 weeks. Most installs fall off my head after about 3.
