Thanks for the advice and suggestion everybody.
There is a picture of the style I`m thinking about getting, on the general hair talk board under thread "HairStyle Picture".

I wear glasses, and as long as the layers aren`t too short, they absolutely don`t bother me.
Naturally wavy hair sometimes gets a bit unruly with layers... tends to be harder to control.
Layers can look great, but can make a lot more work (I have been getting them for years now!) than just plain straight hair. If you have really straight hair, then it`ll probably be really easy to maintain, but if not, you might have to use a hairdryer.
I personally think a straight cut can be a bit boring, and layers give it depth, and make it interesting, but they have to be maintainable.
I hope this isn`t too much babble... I just finished studying!
See ya,
Kim

Hi,

I just wanted to say that I think your hair sounds really pretty and if I was you, I wouldn`t be going and cutting it shorter. Maybe a few slight layers, if you really tink your hair needs them, but somehow I think your hair sounds wonderful as it is.

Best Wishes,

John

I have already asked about layers,
but how well would regular layer work?

Anybody have any other hairstyle suggestions?

Thanks for the help

I have thick wavy hair as well, and going by my experiences (lol) I would probably go for shoulder length or longer, with long layers. That will bring out the wave, and the long layers will keep it from going puffy, and will shape them nicely. If you have been thinking about it for a year, then go for it! Let us know!

Thanks foxfan318 I didn`t know that layered hair tangled so easy.

I want to bring out more of the waves in my hair, that is why I was thinking about layers.

Do you know of any other style that will enhance my waves,
I don`t want bangs.
I also wear glasses.
I was thinking about cutting my hair to about an inch below my shoulders or to my shoulders.
I have been thinking about this for a year.

Hi, I`m a caucasian female with an oval face and I have mid-back length thick wavy brown hair.

On e-how.com it says for {Wavy hair looks nice in chunky layers, and thick hair is suited to soft, textured layers.} Which would be better chunky layers or soft textured layers?

Does anybody know where I could find pictures, showing the two different types of layers?

Thanks for any help
