I WORK AT A BEAUTY SALON AS A SALES ASSOCIATE SO I GET TO TRY EVERTHING OUT SO I CAN SELL IT TO THE RITE CUSTOMER AND HAVING CURLY HAIR MYSELF HELPS ALOT...I WOULD SUGGEST USING GRAHAM WEBBS MAKING WAVES GEL IT GIVES A NICE TEXTURE TO IT WITHOUT MAKING IT TO CRISPY OF A FEEL OR ENJOY STYLING LOTION ADD A LITTLE MOUSE FOR EXTRA HOLD AND IT GIVES U A GREAT MANAGEABLE HOLD

Paula, I did mean the kind that is used as lotion for skin. Smile  I buy it at walmart in the cosmetic section (or during the summer in the tanning lotion/sunscreen section).  The aloe styling gel that you gave the link to sounds really good though!

Hairbraider - do you mean you use something like this:

http://www.claireshealth-beauty.co.uk/index.asp?function=DISPLAYPRODUCT&productid=546

and use it as a styling product?

I googled, aloe vera...I didn't know you could buy it for hair like that! I origionally thought you meant the other kind  (skin etc) !! lol

Aloe Vera Gel!!!  I've been using it for more than 5 years and I love it!  I get the clear one without green dye and without alcohol.  When I discovered it, I stopped buying mousse and spritz.  (Also, the healthier my hair gets, the less frizz I have.)

I have used the textureline control gel by L'Oreal for a really long time but now they are discontinuing it!! It was the ONLY gel that works in my hair and now im having a really hard time finding a new one that works just as well. Does ANYONE have any suggestions? I need a strong but flexible hold...it gets pretty frizzy..ive tried cremes and stuff but they never work! ahhh! Confused
