I HATE the soft brush when trying to develop waves. I use a hard brush and it works perfectly fine. The softy gave me fake waves that often tricked me into believing I was getting a right side. But when i got a Haircut They were gone.
I think that the soft brush only pressure the top of your head while it is high and the hard brush pressure all the way to the roots keeping the waves cemented in your head. I'm sticking with the hard brush until Fully develop my waves. Then the softy will straightn them out.
i use to use the softy daily... then i switched to a medium bout 2 months ago.. cant even tell you how much that medium has improved my waves... gotta experiment like my mans said ^^^ diff textures react diff to brushes
yes, a softy does all the things u jus said. personally i think u should always start off wit a softy especially if ur srill tryna tarin ur hair to lie down regardless of its length. however a softy wont do much of a job on really long hair so for best results get a cut or a trim and start from there

I know ya'll got lots of topics about what softys do and when 2 use em', but i was thinkin...a lotta ya'll say dat da softys help for the most part to lay ya hair down, straighten out ya waves, betta connect them, and 2 use if u got short hair. So if that's tha case, if you was jus startin' out and had lil' 2 no waves, u would only use tha softy when u got short hair, and wouldn't use da softy until u actually got waves in ur head...right?
I kno dis might b a lil confusin, so try 2 bear wit da dude..lol ~1~
