I saw you pictures of the hair you dyed. I lost my long hair to chemotherapy and it is now growing back long enough so I can buy a human hair ponytail but I can not find one in white. My hair is white with a touch of gray. Any input on finding one? Or can I bleach and dye one? If so how is that done by a novice like me?
Thanks,
Annie

I use Shiny Silver Ultra a VERY purple shampoo.
Its a great shampoo but I cant see it altering the color of hair enough,... although I did buy some "unRED" and I am about to see if that and a little water will work, I know it does on my bleached hair very well...
I'm actually in the process of bleaching out my brown hair right now so, I'll post pics of the final experiment soon.

the clear color, just a little bit of it, would help to dilute the amount of dye so that you wouldn't get such a grey/ lavender /purple effect.  you can also just take the toner off as soon as you see it change, heehee.  most of the time i just let a toner sit on for about 5 mins, and that does the trick.

you can also use shimmering lights by clairol, a purple based shampoo and forgo the toner alltogether.

color is so interesting...you can get the same outcome from so many different possibilities!  Tongue

Hmmm, that's cool about the developer, but I think you would need a blue or violet base to make a platinum blonde from a brassy color, wouldn't a clear coat just act as a filler?

hi again,
you can always dilute your developer by using distilled water in equal parts.

so if you have 30 vol on hand, if you mix 1 oz 30 vol with 1 oz of distilled water, you will make 15 vol.

but this only works with distilled, as it has all the minerals and such removed from it!

just thought of it this morning...hope that helpsWink

hi,

in redken shades eq and in matrix prisms they make a clear color to use alone or to add into another color to dilute it.  you would add in 2 oz of developer, 1 1/2 oz of color and 1/2 oz of the clear shade (if they have one)

sorry for any confusion, Confused

WTF clear?
I don't see how that would work if it existed...
Yeah a lower volume may have been better but, 30 is what I had on hand.
Why just 1/2oz of developer? That doesn't seem like enough...
Hm.

eeeeek!!!  30 vol?

10 vol will be much gentler on the hair and as for the purple cast, does clairol make a clear?  if you mix it with a nuetral or a clear color, you won't get that purple cast.

new formula:  1 1/2 oz 323d plus 1/2 oz of a neutral level 10 or a clear

Whats a protein filler???
Nah, I just threw it on there, I used, uh,...what's it called......

Creme Toner by Clairol Professional in 323(d)
Extra-light Platinum
Base blue-violet
( I bough it at Sally's for about $3-4)
Like this picture but 323(d)-->

I poured it into a bowl, then, used 30 volume developer by pouring it into the empty creme toner bottle so I know it would be 2 oz also, then I laid down the hair and coated it with the mix, I let it set for 20 minutes. it DOES turn GRAY while its processing!
But it fades out nicely...

Hey there - I've been lurking for a long time and am finally posting something........I'm newly blonde (again) after near black hair - I'm wearing a 14/22 mix - mostly 22 - I LOVE the color....but it's making me look older as my skin has too much pink in it.  I noticed that you successfully toned your 613 - I'm wanting to do the same with my 22/14 - need to get all the yellow out.

Did you use a protein filler before toning?  I've tried toning 22's and 613's before and ended up with grey/purplish hair.   Thank you so much in advance....any help is appreciated -

Also, anybody know of a good beauty supply for weave wearers in the Palm Springs area?

I left it on for 20 minutes.
It does turn slighty gray, but it kinda fades to a nice platinum white blonde. ( I usually use a blue base, but then I saw this blue/violet that looked more white/gray than the normal blue base I use...)
Awesome I'll def. get my flat iron, thanks!

Nice job toning the hair--- How long did you leave the toner on the hair? I am always afraid of turning the light blondes purpleish or greenish while using a toner, so I am curious how you avoided that outcome. It looks very nice.

I use a flat iron on the hand-tied wefts. Works great to get the kinks/bends out of the weft so it will lay flat. Thumbs%20Up

I just received some Bohyme hand tied wefts, and I cannot figure out how to "soften" the thread part to make it straight.
Its wavy like in the shape it was bundled in (not the hair just the thread!) and its not laying flat!
Should I get my flat iron out?

Also, I ordered bohyme 613 in silky straight (FINALLY SOME !REAL! STRAIGHT HAIR!!!!!!!!!!) and decided it was way to gold/yellow tone for me, so I decided to give it some blue/violet base...
(the first picture is indoors w/ a flash///second picture is in natural light)
