QuoteReplyTopic: Been trying to wave since August. Posted: January 23 2007 at 1:31am
Today I'll probably take a pic. My hair is straight while it's short, and when my hair is long. It's curly. I've been noticing how my hair was pretty much straight while it was short. Yet, I'm wolfin'. I've been doing it for 13 weeks, the hair on the side on my lining is starting to curl up. The hair on my lining is curlier than the rest of my head. Should I keep growing my hair until I see results? Because, my hair is pretty much already trained.

Have U tried following the diagram on here that shows which direction to brush your hair. If your barber is good enough to be recommended by someone else he should be able to cut.
I have a friend who's blacker than me. Who has 360 waves, which are DEEP. Who gets his haircut by the same guy as I do. He has waves just alike Three-Six-Oh, except his hair's blacker. He claims he doesn't use a du-rag, and brushes his hair with water. I didn't believe him at first, but then after reading that you didn't need a du-rag when you have a deep pattern. I was amazed.
Then I have another friend who's the same color who claims his waves are natural. He said, "Who ever told you that you need to brush, is wrong. Wear a du-rag." "Natural," in his vocabulary means no brushing. Natural in hair terms, means no du-rag or anything. He always comes out straightening his hair with his hand. At the same time, he has curly hair. I don't believe he doesn't brush his hair. He only has waves on the top of his head

Tsunami I was wondering. You say that U had waves before and the barber cut them out. So my suggestion is buck up and keep brushing your hair, because if they were there before they should return. If U follow the methods that are listed you should get waves at some time. If everyone else can get them, you should to.
My father recommended me a barber to go to, about two months ago. I currently still go to that barber, he cuts with the grain. Well, atleast I'm pretty sure he does, since he combs my hair a bit to the way I brush, and when I'm done the two waves I have are visible. My old barber would have been better holding the clippers by it's wire, and started throwing it at my head. Since he didn't do a good job going with the grain.
After seeing chrisdog's skin color and hair texture, I'm pretty sure I can get waves. But I'm pretty sure his hair is curlier than mine, since mine only curls when it's long.

Here's my question towards you; why is your first language retarded? Serious question, equals a serious answer. But I only guess you posted that based on your assumption/opinion. I guess people can't shutup.

New method: Apply Pink lotion, use a soft brush for two minutes to get the Pink lotion in my hair. Apply S-Curl Jel Activator, let it sit for 4 minutes, let it moisturize and curl a bit. Then brush with a medium for a couple of minutes, then use soft brush for the rest. Then apply a durag. *About 2 hours later* Wash hair.
Washing: Apply Tres'Seme(Bitch sh*t, no choice.) Then put a bit of water in my hair, smooth it in, let it sit for a while and add the Frutese(Spelling error) conditioner. Then rinse out. Dry hair a bit, apply pink lotion, then carrot cream. Then brush with a soft brush, for twelve minutes. Wet du-rag, and put on. When it gets dry, wet it again. Apply Pink lotion, brush then strap on again. Do it twice, then it ends here.

@Black Plague, I just listed the products I have used in the past. I'm currently using Lets Jam orange top, Pink Lotion, Carrot Cream, and S-Curl Jel Activator. I prefer Pink lotion over Carrot cream, but I only use Carrot cream after washing my hair, it lays my hair down and feels better. @LDIZLWhen I got my haircut 13 weeks ago, I looked to see if I was doing anything wrong. Then I started using pomade again, and using a hard brush after washing my hair. Then in the morning, add a little more pomade, and brush with asoft brush. Now I went back to my old technique without pomade. I've used the H20 method in the shower, and put shampoo in and brush it in and out while my hair was wet. IT never worked. I only use my Soft brush, and my medium brush now. I'll provide some pictures, no batteries for my camera. lolFor now my method is. Morning:Apply Pink lotion, brush with soft brush for 12 minutes. Apply Lets Jam(sometimes) brush for 5 more minutes. Off to school.
lmao! hell naw...you trippin. calm down yo DAMN he let em have it. you got heated so quick tsunamiwave. check it, the key is wolfin and brushin. u also need to moisturize...that many products arent necessary. youd do well with CC or LJ or PL or H2O. Or a combination of 2 (excluding water of course). dont touch the pomades unless you feel its ABSOLUTELY and i mean 100% NECSSARY too. other than that ask on, it never hurts to ask. btw its not only the VETs that know their stuff tsunam...alot of us got the knowledge on that subject.
on the other note it is rude when someone asks a question to waste a post not to be helpful but just to give em a redundant statement or attitude, instead of posting "go check previous threads" why not give em some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism like "heres the answer....however next time check the stickies..etc. etc." its much better
Good luck fam. and lets keep that brotherly love up in here k?
^^^cosign... you gotta understand all of us on this site have a quick fuse for repeatitive questions... wolf and brush... and keep repeating the process and eventually your waves will develop.. now if uve been @ it since august and still have nothing to show for it maybe your doing something wrong.. is your hair to low past your wave length?? it could be anything... u should prob post some pics so we can get an idea of waht kinda texture ur dealing wit...

Why so many posts to ask one question?? I'm pretty sure if you read the previous thread, you'll find your answers.
I've been on this board just as long as you have, I just never tried posting. Instead, I tried to search around, and find my answers for myself. You see, I'm not the one to try to trouble others for my OWN problems. Yet it became so ridiculous, I thought I HAD to ask a question or two. Excuse myself for asking A QUESTION. A question can be hard, or easy. If you have studied your facts, the question would come as easy. Yet, if you struggle at the question, I suggest you to keep your damned comments to your self. OK? Now, I find myself in a predictament, in determining what your response will be. Better yet, don't respond at all. Leave this topic to the 360 Veterans.

I have been brushing, in fact I've been doing it since August. Count how many months that is, do the math. I HAVE been brushing, matter of fact. 30 minutes at a time, even when my computer was broken.
I refered to some old pages. I put some S-Curl Jel Activator in my hair for 4 minutes, then brushed like a maniac with my medium. Then put some Pink oil in, and brushed a bit more with my soft brush. Then put my du-rag on, I took it off 23 minutes later, I have a change of texture, and when I look at my hair I could see dips about 4 inches apart. Is this a good sign?

Have U been wolfin'. U keep saying you had waves and u want waves, but how long have you grown your hair.
I had waves, I'm trying to gain them again. I'm currently wolfin', using Pink lotion, Carrot Cream, and just started using S-Curl Jel, and Lets Jam orange top. I've been wolfin' for about, 13 weeks, I'm getting a hair cut next week.
