Messed UP ends

Good thing you bumped this up! I still haven't been able to combat this problem. Like you said Kellie, the ends are just crunched up and stuck together as if the natural pattern at the ends is too stubborn to break apart. I have no idea why this is. I really don't think it has ANYTHING to do with trimming or splits.      I really don't know.

I agree with some of the other posters...ceramic plated not ceramic coated flat irons are best for the hair...I am not familiar with the iron you have but you might want to check that out. To help with breakage mix blackstrap molasses in a bowl of moisturizing conditioner or do a med/ligh protein treatment ex: Aphogee 2min recon. HTH

..Most of it is natural except a few straggled ends that won't go anywhere .. that's what breaks. I suppose. I have had a relaxer in over a year.

Hi...I think I found something helpful when it comes to sealing your ends. I hope it helps!! They say that you have to purchase that end sealer but....I think that you should buy whatever end sealer that takes to your hair.

Thanks Ladies.  My ends feel slightly better now after deep conditioning with Aussie Moist and KeraCare Essential Oils.  However, I noticed that my ends are too stubborn to break the curl pattern when I straighten, which is probably why they are frizzy.  It'll soon be time for another little trim, so I'm not too worried.  Any other suggestions are welcomed 

I just trimmed recently, and girl I've been on here long enough to know that grease doesn't really moisturize.  Although, many females still use grease despite hair knowledge because essentially, there's not too much wrong with it unless it contains the petrolatum (or however you spell it)  I only have used heat every 2 weeks if that.  My flat iron does not have a setting. I need a new one!  Anyhow..it's Tigi!  And I think it's a little too hot for my head.  I use tons of heat protectant.  Redken Heat Glide, KeraCare Essential Oils, KeraCare Liquid Silken Seal, and Keracare Creme Press.  All of those can be used to protect hair from heat damage! The last trim was right after Christmas or so.  I finally grew out my rat tail (I love weird hair cuts)  I've been bagging for the past 3 days or so with grease.  I know a lot of ladies use Vaseline for bagging and/or grease. I hate grease, and I moisturize my hair with KeraCare Oil Moisturizer and seal with KeraCare Essential Oils.  Those two as a combo do it for me.  When I was relaxed, the oil moisturizer was absolutely crap, now it's GREAT!  I hate to touch my ends because I see so much breakage and shed.  It's disgusting.  And it just occured to me that my ends are still trying to fight the relaxer I once had.  

My ends only feel rough after flat ironing if I haven't trimmed for months. Yo might be using too much heat on your hair. Try a lower setting when you flat iron. Or you probably just need a trim. Do you use a heat protectant? I try to baggy my ends as often as possible so they stay pretty soft and smooth when I do use heat on them. What are you using to moisturize?  grease doesn't moisturize hair so you need a good moisturizer and oil to seal it in or a light oil that can penetrate the cuticles like coconut or jojoba.
