Damage with hard rings can occur pretty easily if you can't get the ring out. The most common testimony out there from the DIY (Do-It-Yourselfer) is of rings doubling over and having to be cut out of the hair.

Something very helpful is to get a training head and practice various methods of install and (even more importantly) gentle removal of each before putting it in your own hair.

I know I'm posting all over the place right now but what can I say, I'm full of questions!

Whats the risk of damage with linkies? How are they compared to shrinkies or fusion with damage or breakage?
