Is your hair curly/wavy?  If so, you may not be able to get it.  For applying gel, put a small amount in your palm and rub your hands together.  Run your fingers through your hair.  Then comb or brush it into place.  To get it right in the front, you might try brushing it up and back before combing it over to the side.  It's possible that his is that way because of a cowlick.

Thank you hairbraider. After I thought for a while I realised that it should not be that hard. However, my problem would be to make it stand like that in the front and all straight...so you suggest using gel...hmmm.

I am a newby to hairstyling and have never done it before and no idea how to apply gel actually. Do you  just rub the gel into the hair and comb it then?

That's a very easy style to achieve actually.  All of my 5 brothers have had that style during at least part of their lives.  lol  The key, I think, is getting it cut right.  You can print off that picture and take it to a salon (or a traditional barber shop would probably do a good job) and tell them you want it cut like that.

As far as styling in concerned, if you don't generally comb your hair to the side, you'll probably have to train it to lay like that.  Brush it when it's wet, fresh out of the shower, so it'll dry that way.  You may need to use some light hold gel to help it stay.

p.s. it will work better if you comb it the direction your hair naturally swirls

Hello everyone,

my name is Jonathan...I was not sure where to post so I decided "General Hair Talk" would be best!

I would love to achieve this hairstyle:

I think this hairstyle is kinda formal and I like the look of it. But I do wonder...I don't think it is very easy to get it exactly like that and it wont work just with a comb...

Could someone give me a step by step guide to achieving exactly this hairstyle? Which devices and products have to be used?

I know that I'm asking for a lot and I greatly appreciate your efforts. I am thankful for every little tip. Smile

Love, Jonathan
