Please go to a salon.  This is one of the hardest corrective colours to do so really look into finding a good colourist in your city.  Black artificial pigments on bleached hair is one of the hardest things to remove and the fact that they will have to use bleach  on already bleached hair....  well...  it's not a good thing.  Good luck.

Definitely go to a pro...removing black hair color can be very tricky (I've done it twice, and once ended up looking like rainbow brite)

honestly i would go to a professional and have them lift your current color to a dark blond or light brown in the tone you desire (warm, neutral, or cool) and then go back in 2 or 3 months and have the highlights put in.
learn to love what you were born with
you can do anything if you set your mindto it (just dont try this with hair, that could turn out bad)

Hi all. I'm pondering whether I should go to salon or do it myself at home. I dyed my bleached blonde hair (I did it myself at home) with a demi-permament black dye in Jan. It's already fading a lot and I can see some brown streaks that were blonde underneath while my natural dark brown roots are growing out. Now, I'm already bored with black color and I don't want to go back to blonde like before. I'm looking at a soft light or medium brown with extra dimensions. I'd like to gradually lighten to a dark ashy blonde with highlights as long as I don't go any lighter than that. I don't want any pale, bright or light blonde at all and I'm willing to go up to dark blonde, that's it. Do you think highlights would achieve what I'm seeking? If so, then I will make appt. in several months after my hair grows out some and have a major hair cut. I don't mind having to come in several appts in order to lighten my hair with highlights to the color I desire.
