Hey ladyflash gave good advise...you probably need a protein conditioner Apoghee Intensive Keratin treatment used weekly...I love ACV rinses I don't think they clarify though they are suppose to balance out the ph of your hair (porosity) I do them before a deep conditioner and you have to dilute it very well before using it. I started having problems with split ends from heat damage...from what I have read Chi irons get very very hot make sure that you are using the correct temp. I just invested in shears from Sally's and started doing search and destroys clipping off split ends because sometimes a trim doesn't get the splits that are far up the shaft. I think that Suave shampoos have SLS detergents that make them very stripping so if you are using this to clarify with you should follow it with a moisturizing shampoo....if you are looking for a daily leave in Netrogena silk touch is great. HTH :-)
Apple cider vinegar wash is going to make your hair feel dry because it is a clarifying treatment. It strips the hair of its oils. Only do this if your hair needs a deep cleansing from product buildup and replace moisture with a penetrating cond and oil. For your "weak" spots that keep breaking take your favorite moisturizing cond and just add extra to those areas when you deep cond. OR try a protein treatment and see if that stops the breakage, but do moisturize after to prevent your hair from feeling "hard". Make sure your checking the ingredients on the products you buy: pantene products have a lot of harmful things in it. I like the Cholesterol conditioners by Queen Helene and such. They are cheap but boy do they get the job done. I tried the Ojon products too. Loved it but yeah it is expensive. And are you applying heat when you cond?? if not try that too.
I am newbie on this forum. I have a couple of questions about my products and regime. First, I started growing my relaxed 3c with some 3b and 4a sections hair. I managed to get the back part of my hair to almost bra strap, but I been having problems keeping my front and sides of my hair (crown area) from breaking off so its 2.5 inches past my chin. I need help! I have stopped putting my hair into ponytails. I get my hair relaxed between 10-12 weeks. I use a mild Mizani relaxer. I got a trim about 9 weeks ago. I just can't seem to keep the front of my hair from splitting. I had stopped putting my hair up in a bonnett at night so I think that is part of the problem. Usually, I wash and condition my hair once a week, roll and sit under the dryer. I don't brush my hair much. I don't use a flat iron much but when I do it I use a CHI iron and CHI silk infusion (which has lots of cones so it might be bad). I was using OJON products which I love but they are too expensive so I need some other suggestions. I do use jojoba oil as nighttime conditioner before I wash my hair.
So please give me so advice on what type of products that are cheap, but good. Also my hair weights down easily so shea butter on my hair other than a overnight conditioner and wash out is a no-no.
I would really like to do apple cider vingear wash, but everytime I try it my hair feels dry. Also my ends are always dry. I need a daily conditoner that doesn't have lots of mineral oil that weighs my hair down and doesn't have a lot of cones.
These are some questionable products that I have been using, please tell me if I need to get rid of them.
