"bigen" is basicly a die that makes your edge up looke XTRA CRISP. .jamie fox and luda use it.. peep the "release therapy" album cover. youl see what im talkin bout
yup the soft bristile is easier on the hair.. so it doesnt pick at it... but smooths it out.. which makes a staighter curl.. thus havin straighter connected waves

gah ok look. about the softy thing for connections n stuff. its true. it was discussed long ago and im too lazy to find it but i still remember it. its becuz the difference between a hard and a softy is that the
hard bristles PULL on ur hairs becuz of more friction right? they extend ur hair to its limit with every stroke and ur hair returns to normal position.
soft bristles dont pull nearly as much at all but more push and arrange ur hairs because the bristles are basically laying down hair in wutever DIRECTION you brush. almost like...the softy is some kind of sorter
so the hard brush pulls, softy arranges cuz it DOESNT pull so much. if u understand that its why the hard brush creates waves faster but more times than not they come out crooked or not so smooth.
this is wut i remember i could be wrong. correct me tho if u think so but this is wut i remember someone saying before and it makes perfect sense to me
Yep... i read that b4 too

EXPLANATION FOR THE SOFTIE FROM A HB VET..... SUPA
This is for everyone who want to know the purpose of the softie. A lot of times many people use medium or hard brushes to get the pattern down and therefore their waves come in crooked. Therefore the softie was necessary to connect them waves. However once you have established a foundation and wave pattern, the softie becomes somewhat obsolite...unless you have lowcuts.
I still use the softie because it works wonders on my hair, but to each his own on that one. If that's not proof right there I don't know what is.

1) I'm not sure how it works either but i was always told to use it 4 connection.
2) No, it doesn't stop ya waves from dippin. what it does is hold your hair in place; plus when your hair's growing it won't grow sticking up in different directions but it'll grow horizontally. but only du rag when you're not brushing cuz brushing is more important that raggin.
3) Never tried it but i've heard from other people and they've said that it works. but my hair has become darker over time by using carrot cream.
4) I was told that it can, but after experimenting myself i've come to realize that it can't. You can brush the whole day w/ a softie; but if you're usin a med. or a hard brush you're fine too...just stop b4 your scalp start feelin sore (but that probably means you're brushin too hard)
5)YES! The person that put me up on it when i first joined this site is my team mate NIGEL and i can't thank him enough for it.

in my search for info that would improve my wave status. ive been looking at these forums for a few months. and ive came across some ideas/concepts/methods that iim not to sure about. so if any of u can clear up for me weather these things are tru that would b cool
1. "the softie" alot of dudes have mentioned it.. but i cant see how that thing possibly works. .
2. the "du-rag"... now i been sleepin wit the du-rag... but if im going for that 3d dipping effect.. wont the du rag push the waves down too much and reduce that look
3."bigen" im thinkin bout trying this for that extra crisp line.. has it worked for any 1
4."over brushing" can you really brush too much and take out your
waves?
5. "h20 method" does moving water actually aid the wave process
