skydreem - i used the wella toner in white lady (T18) and i loved it. it only lasted about a week and a half to two weeks, but still gave me a great blonde. might want to check out the other colors as well!

I agree about the Wella toners. I'm not a hairdresser but have started doing my own hair with toner mixes from Ricky's (a beauty store here in NYC). I love the Wella, so far it's the only thing that has gotten my hair as light as I want it (lighter than in my pic). I used the permanent color but they do have semi permanent, too.

hey there lipglossdoll, i am hairdresser.
what i would do is use a a gentle toner, something like wella sunlights /18 or wella Koleston perfect 10/8 as a toner with pastel (a very light peroxide almost water 1.9%)

i say wella because i work with them and found these colors to be perfect with blondes! everyone says so. and yes you can use a toner every fortnight providing you are using a very low peroxide.

hope this helps babe Smile

I just read where Karen was talking about bleach breaking off your hair. She's very right.Use a good treatment.I think Paul Mitchell Hair Repair is good.Putting too much color back & forth is bad.I should know, hehe! I say that, cuz I was the one that has fried my hair from coloring & bleaching.I just now realized that doing this isn't gonna help. All it's gonna do is screw our hair up more.I'm trying to get my hair long again & if I kept coloring it.I'd never have pretty long hair.My best advice is to use tons of hair care products to protect your hair. Then after awhile u can color again. If it wasn't for Artec shampoo I'd be coloring again.I only color my roots now.I;m much happier now.Well, I hope u don't screw up your hair.Good luck!

I was once told you can tone all you want with no damage ... Don't know if it's entirely true though, because I hear so many conflicting reports on everything. I use a purple conditioner on my blonde AND Fanciful brand rinse in "white minx." For the LONGEST time I was looking for something to keep my blonde nice and bright and this did the trick. I also use Jhirmack shampoo for silver hair (ok for blondes, of course!). When I do all three in one day, my hair looks EXTRA great.

You could always go back to your salon every couple of weeks for the toner. Yeah, they never do last but a couple of weeks. And I second that elastic hair is NOT a good sign at all.

You should try a shampoo called Art Tec color. It's a deposit color shampoo. It only deposits color on the outer shaft of the hair.Which is good for colored or bleached hair.I use it on my hair.I got my hair hightlighten. It keeps my blonde bright & shiny. What u can do is go to a Salon & ask them what color they think u should use.It helps to keep the color from fading also.Plus, this keeps u from having to color it as much. It's 12.00 for Shampoo.15.00 for the cond. Good luck! :)

Try using some of the Born Blonde toners available at Sally Beauty.  They usually last one to two weeks.  In order to keep a nice shade of blonde you must tone at least once a week, IMHO.

Hope this helps.

Hi Lipglossdoll.

Have you heard of John Freda Colour Gloss, we have it here in the UK. You can get it for blonde hair, brunette, and for red hair, you can use it every day and it gives hair a beautiful gloss and boosts your hair colour.

As for your hair breaking, your hairdresser is wrong I'm sorry but your hair should not feel elasticy and break after bleach. The bleach is damaging your hair, causing it to break away. Try a good conditioning treatment for your hair to help repair the damage. I dont know where you are in the world, but I'm sure there must be good hair products you can buy.

Good- Luck

i have very light blonde hair(its bleached) and when ever o go to the hair dresser she putts this amazing blonde toner on my hair but in a week or two it washes off.i mean, its still blonde but not that amazing blonde colour ...how often do you guys putt toners on your hair???..is it too much for me to putt it on every 2 weeks you think???...but it makes the colour "ohhh sooo nice"!....i also use the purpel shamppo though so it wont get brassy....

also, i naturally have black hair, and at the moment i have whiteish champane blonde hair, when i take showers my hair is like lastic, you pull on it and it all alacticy...then it breaks off really easyly...but it is perfectly fine when its dry...my hair dresser said it was normal for my hair to do that if i want it that blonde and since i have naturally black hair, what do you guys think  about this?i need more advise!!!..i need help on this!!..

have a good one!
