QuoteReplyTopic: How do i retrain my waves? Posted: April 08 2007 at 1:13pm
Thanx for the advice three-six-oh! I've read the waveology and it is very informative. I'm gonna take your advice and just get a low cut. That afro thing ain't a good look for me. lol...... I told my barber the last time that i was thinking about taking it down real low and everyone in the shop said I was crazy. Like I said before this site is putting me on a path for perfection. I've been brushing so much now to retrain my hair that my head is getting a little tender. I'm gonna chill for a minute and get a lower cut. I'll post pix when I get my cut so everyone can see my progress.

I see what your talking about and the good thing is that your pattern is already reworking itself. Keep brushing with a softie to help with your problem areas.

Yea. Yall got me motivated. Heres some older pix when i was at 6 weeks wolfing. I had the 360 pomade in it. You can see what I was talking about with my front sides in the last pix.
Your connection is there. Just focus on brushing the area where you get the temple taper in the proper direction. Eventually, those waves on your lower front sides will rework themselves into a more circular pattern.

I already starting tryin to deprogram my hair by brushing them the correct way. Thats why my front sides look the way they do. Its like i'm starting all over. If i had earlier pix you would see that my lower front sides break my whole way pattern. They looked good but this site got me wanting to do it the correct way.

I've been waving for a couple years and never knew how to properly brush my hair until i discovered this site. My waves are well trained but they are not 360. My problem is that I've been brushing my sides straight down instead of at an angle. My question is do i have to cut my waves out and start over or can i retrain them? I've started to try retraining them but it seems like my hair isn't laying down properly. Here's some pics. I need some VET's advice please. I put in alot of hard work and would hate to have to cut my waves out and start all over.
You don't have to brush your hair in a different direction. Which ever way continuously brush your hair is the direction that your waves will eventually form.
