I have those books too and LOVE them. The styles are fairly easy to do and look great. I highly recommend them to anyone with long hair.

Finding someone that knows how to handle long hair can be an exhaistive search but worth the time. Keep looking! In the meantime, braids are a nice change of pace for long hair. Check out the Dreamweaver site at http://home.columbus.rr.com/dreamweavers/ for step-by-step instructions for some really fabulous braids. There are many more styling options for long than short hair. You should check out the books by Patrick Cameron (reviewed on this site). I have two of his books and they are filled with terrific long hair styles. Good luck!!

Have you consider cutting it? I`m thinking you want to keep it long (though I prefer short hair) you might try something around mid-back with angled layering around the face.

My hair goes down to my waist now, and besides braids and buns I`m starting to wonder if my hair really is too long to do anything with. It is slightly wavy at the ends, black, and I havent yet found a hairstylist that knows Jack about dealing with long long hair...
