You put them on dry hair and leave in for about 10 minutes, and yes, the body lasts all day. They are very inexpensive, easy and don`t dry your hair out. Try them and see what you think.
Lisa, I have been in the same situation with growing out the layers and I will tell you my story. First of all, I have medium fine hair. I was growing out a short shag (what a mess) and had layers all over. I couldn`t wait to get rid of the layers so instucted my hairdressor to cut all the layers out!! Well she did and I looked like I had some sort of Dutch Boy cut!! I hated it but after a few weeks I could live with the length. Well I did the blunt thing for about 2 months and guess what? I didn`t like it because there was no interesting shape. I told my stylist and we decided to cut in a layer about 1/2 inch above the bottom. I love this now because I can flip it up or turn it under and it has a lot of movement. In my opinion, Having some light layering adds versatility and intersest to a cut.
I don`t know a thing about the steam rollers, but I have great luck with the velcro rollers!! You just get them at Wal mart or wherever and roll your hair up in them, I usually just leave mine in for about 10 minutes and I get great body from it.
I`m growing out my Something about Mary cut. The back it a little past my chin and the front is just above my chin (when I pull it down straight). I`d say there is about an inch (maybe a little less) of a difference in length between the sides/front and the back. I also have a few long layers, I guess they are called. My hairdresser takes a razor and lightly goes over the last few inches of my hair too. My question is, since I`m trying to grow my hair, do I have to cut it all one length first? I know it`s only about an inch or so, but I don`t want to loose that length. Is is possible to grow your hair out, but keep your layers? I liked my cut when I first got it done and it`s growing out with a nice shape. I`m getting my hair trimmed & highlighted in a few weeks so I was thinking about having her just trim and 8th of an inch off, but keep the same style. Has anyone tried this before? Also, how bad are steam rollers for your hair? I was thinking about using them daily for a little bounce. I use good produts on my hair and a good leave in conditoner, but I don`t want to create damage. ( I also posted this in the long hair support section)
