It feels back to normal now, but my roots are grown long underneath where shes not done the root, and the top of my hair the roots are showing again.

So basicly Im wondering if its ok to buy a box dye and do it at home myself and try a blonde, My natural color is darkest blonde according to my hairdresser, but to me it looks brown. Would I be safe to do this?

NO!!! You have previously tinted hair and regrowth that is virgin hair. These can both be lightened but the previously colored hair will not lighten with haircolor. It can only be lightened via bleaching. The virgin regrowth can be lightened with artificial haircoloring but the previously colored hair will NOT lighten.

Goto a salon and leave it to professional or goto a beauty school if you can't afford it. Two different formulas need to be done to the hair to make the regrowth match the tinted hair. It's a complex process and not something I'd recommend you do yourself unless you are prepared mentally for the worse then you could just be costing yourself more money as you would be looking at corrective color work to fix it and that typically starts at $150 and goes up from there.
