yep...and when in doubt do ALL of the above

my last install the remaining stickyness came out by using a bit of grapeseed oil on the sticky areas, i let it sit for just a few minutes, used a fine tooth comb to comb through, shampooed with neutrogena clarifying
lotta talkin 'bout hair n other stuff: http://www.diyextensions.net/

For me, it was a combination of:
-at first a LOT of acetone 9mostly for removal)
-then Goo Gone (it was really the best to take the gooeyness out), you pour tons of it on your head, let it sit, massage it on the areas that are the most sticky
-then shampoo w/ Neutrogena clarifying shampoo (a square botlle), with hot water and shampoo a few times in a row
Then blowdry.
Then on my dry hair, I would still have stickiness in some areas, I would re-apply some Goo Gone in the freshly cleaned hair, let it sit again, massage and another few shampoos.
All this would usually work on my hair to remove the stickiness of Protac or other kinds of tape.

Well its a lot of personal prefrence but here is a list
goo-gone
acetone
orange oil
HEAPS of conditioner
olive oil

which ever you choose, let it sit for a bit, then gently comb it out and the lil sticky bits will come with it.
