some people really love the synthetic and some really hate it. I think its just a personal preference. I personally dont care for synthetic, but there are some really great synthetics out there.
Be sure to have a couple of types of remover on hand in case one doesnt work for you, then you will have a backup remover.
Hi there chick, I got some plastikhaar but I didn't find it very good, I think thermofibre is a lot better plus you can use heat with it. You want around 6oz in weight of whatever you're ordering. If you are doing the tape method you want obviously some tape, some orange oil remover, some sectioning clips, a tail comb and patience and that's about it, you can get everything from www.shrinkies.net. Don't use any good scissors that you have cos they will get gummed up.xx
I'm new here, but I've been reading all the posts for a couple of months.
I have thin hair, kind of wavy and unmanageable. There's nothing wrong with it, but it never looks great.
I've been wearing long wigs and clip-in ponytails and chignons for a year or so. However, with summer coming up, I'd like to try extensions.
My hair is layered, with the longest layers just longer than my chin. It's dyed black, which I think will be a benefit because it's pretty easy to match dyed-black hair (the add-ins I've worn have been one of the motivating factors in dying it black).
The good news is, I'm between jobs, my next job will be in a foreign country, and I've got two months free while I wait around for my visa and other paperwork. So, I've got plenty of time to learn and practice.
The bad news is, I'm staying way out in the countryside in Europe because it's the only place I can afford. I haven't even seen a salon around here, let alone one that does extensions.
Do you think I can do my own? Like I said, I've got patience, and my mother is here to help out if I need an extra pair of hands. I've had a look at a look of the tutorials and this site is AMAZING.
I was thinking I'd like to do the Plastikhaar. I had Great Lengths about seven years ago, so I know how great the human hair is. But, I think it's best to stick with something cheaper for now while I'm learning.
So. What do I need to buy to get started? I should order the Plastikhaar. The wefts are sold by the meter, so how many should I order to be on the safe side?
Then, I need tape, glue, what else? Some kind of remover? And where would be the best place to order them? I would need clips and a rat-tail comb, which I have, but I'm sure I'm overlooking something.
I'm kind of nervous about what I'm getting myself into, so this post is waaaaay too long. But, I figure this is the best time for me to do some experimenting.
i really appreciate any help. I always feel kind of moochy when I go to a site where I have absolutely ZERO expertice to offer...
