I am about to go through the same process with the same hair color. It is possible to place the highlights so they do not show regrowth as much. You can also have them placed on the crown area but not directly on top so that it shows when your hair moves but will not show regrowth.

Thanks! Also, do you think I need highlights in order for the color not to look drab? If I do do highlights, is it possible to have them done so that regrowth will not be visible? I'd really like to stop coloring my hair for the next few years, so do you think I should skip the highlights? Thanks so much for your help.
i used demipermanent color to bring my bleached hair back to a more natural color, it did take a few times (three) before it didnt fade away after just a couple of weeks
for me, a 'protein filler' applied before helps the color take evenly

My hair has been a level 9 or 10 blonde for about a year now and due to a move I'll be making in July to a small island I need a color that is very low-maintenance. So I want to get my base back to my natural color (level 7 golden blonde) with a few highlights in front. I scheduled 2 appointments with my stylist before my move. Is this enough? I know color can turn out really spotty on bleached hair and I really need my hair to look decent before I move, since I might not have access to a salon I feel comfortable with when I get to where I'm going. How many times will my hair have to be colored before it looks even? Also, is there anything I can do to my hair before my appointment that will make it hold the color better? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!
