I think brushing the long way is for focusing on one main spot. u cover a lesser area like that tho.

yea i tend to do that on my right leftish part because that part is not waving up right so im trying to put more attention there.

It doesn't matter if you are brushing at the correct angles.  The only difference is that you are reducing the brushes area of contact, therefore you are brushing less hair with each stroke.

used the vertical long side of the brush. is this how ur supposed to brush ? like on the diane 8118 they would hold the hadle and brush down on there head the way with the handle (vertical)
