I am fairly new to finding the best hair. Cuticle, no cuticle, Remy, it's a lot to take in, but I really am trying to educate myself, so I really appreciate your feed back.
I need a really high quality product as the install will be in place for 6-10 months straight...and to boot it would be nice if the hair was reusable.
Dare to dream right.
Keep it coming any input that you'd like to offer me, I'm trying to learn about this for the long haul.
....Do you have a special liking for Bohyme Hair? I am AA and I want something that looks like nappy hair that has been pressed out. Something that will hold a rodded set, and would work well with microillusions.
Pressed hair never gets as straight as permed AA hair ( u may or may not know this I'm just trying to be clear). Yaki hair is still straighter than miy natural hair. I tried letting it get old, and it still does not completely match.
I am leaning towards "Adorable Hair", but just wanted to check some others out before I really decide.
You may want to give Extensions Plus relaxed textured hair a looksee.. This hair is better quality than Adorable's hair, and it's an excellent match for many AA textures.. The EPRT only comes wefted, and the longest wefted length is 18", but they also do custom hair textures if you need something a little kinkier or longer and in bulk versus wefted.. Mona's Hair Center also makes a very nice kinky texture which is a great match for African American's who are all natural.. Unfortunately they don't make it in length's longer than 10". HTH Extensions-Plus http://extensions-plus.com
Amanda if you ever see a black male with a "Natural" aka an Afro that is what kinky AA hair usually looks like. When I wash my hair and let it air dry that's what it looks like. Pressed hair is straightened out with a pressing comb. You may not see pressed hair that much, only b/c more AA women perm there hair than not.
Any way I am not all that keen on the EM, the only reason I brought up the topic again was because I wanted to solidify my suspicions. And I wanted to share the complete video, I thought others had not seen it, but now I realize many people in this forum already have.
I also did not know that the EM machine has been upgraded. Poor marketing and support. I was one of the first ones to buy this machine in the USA and even talked on the phone extensively with Dr. Lee, the creator.
*You can't put heat on the bonds, they will come out
*The machine is way to big and bulky to get the bond close to the head and the heat from the machine burns customer's heads.
*It does not put out enough glue therefore hair sheds like crazy.
I'd love to try the 'new and improved' machine if it was offered to me at a resonable price. I'm not spending $500 + again, like I did initially.
I'm telling the truth from my experiences with my clients. I do not sell this machine, therefore I can give a truthful account of my experiences with it.
I really did want this machine to be the ultimate hair extension device. I wanted it work work as stated, but it does not.
"Did you know that the machine had been unpgraded, that the adhesive (cartridge) had been also upgraded? "
I never knew any of the above, just shows how good the customer service is at Hibraid obviously!
oooo Amanda, no you didn't go there. I've just been to your site. You are really good at matching up those blonde colors. Are you ever tempted to dye their hair one color?
Hi there chick, yes you can roll the bonds, just flatten them or fold them, whatever you want really. I'm not sure I know what nappy hair or pressed out hair is, sorry chick, but yes I love bohyme.

No. If you look closely at my earlier post, I did say that I am DIY'R (do it yourselfer). I considered purchasing one last year but decided against it!
Extreme I do not own an EM, I know others who are pro's who do own one, Amanda for example.

Thank you for your post. Sorry if you tought I was offended, it is my way of talking... Probably cause I am a Taurus, bad temper or else... Or simply that I am french and that when I use a word it sound a little hectic....I didn't mean to be rude.LOL
SInce you come from the US, could you tell me how much does it cost you to do a full head to a customer and how much you charge?
I am asking that so I could make you realise that using EM is more affordable than using another device (unless it is glue gun, sewing hair to a bread or using hair that is not A grade)
Thanks so much for your feedback. That's why we all are here to share experiences, and informatiom.
I would not apply any bonds to my hair without ensuring that my hair is squeaky clean, free of any emollients, period.
I have never used Redkin on my hair. I do not own an EM, by the way for 789USD I want perfection. Can you go into detail about the upgrades Extreme? My tools usually pay for themselves and they don't need me to feed it a lot of money. EM won't work without the specific EM tape.
LOL LOL LOL Extreme What you say maybe true of other keratin products, but they don't cost 789USD either! I'm proud to say I am a DIY'r.
I really like that EM can create tiny bonds, that's what attracted me to it initially. It needs some improvements on not melting under heat. I trust what the pro's are saying about the machine.
The tape kinda' reminds me of my experience with Liquid gold, as soon as I put any moisture in my hair they came undone.
I know you are only trying to be helpful, so please don't be offended. OK.
Have a great week Extreme, and thanks for taking the time to explain your experience here in the forum. Your honesty is invaluable. It helps!!
SIncerelly I am not here to make a big thing out of EM, I am just telling you what I am experiencing and I just love what I can do with this technic. About AA hair, we have tried several hair extensions and I understand your point by saying that you have to apply hair products from the scalp to the end of your hair. I did try the REDKEN product ALL SOFT on AA hair and the bond did not shed at all, even using it on the bonds.
Also when you are putting hair extension on your customer, I ALWAYS do a clarifying shampoo to remove all deposit of any substances such as products (oil, vitamines...) On AA hair I do the same, BUT I will put the treatment all soft from the end to the top BUT not to the scalp, ( I try not to go too close) than I apply the extensions with EM. If your hair had too much residu maybe that is why they had shed that much....
I am just trying to help you use your investment here!
And by the way I am not an employee of Extend Magic, I am a user!

Good day Amanda, thank you for your reply, I love to learn what people are thinking of EM. About the heat on the bond I figure that if (with any method of hair extention) you put your flat iron on the bond, it will react... I did use Great lengts, Cinderella, Balmain technick and also keratine and if you put heat, it melts. It is the same with EM.
I need to ask you something; when is the last time you used EM and had problems with the bonds? I think you were one of the first from UK to use the system and were posting informations on this site? Did you know that the machine had been unpgraded, that the adhesive (cartridge) had been also upgraded? It would be nice to have news from you thank you!
....Do you have a special liking for Bohyme Hair? I am AA and I want something that looks like nappy hair that has been pressed out. Something that will hold a rodded set, and would work well with microillusions.

I can confirm that heat does affect this bond, you heat it up, it will come out. I agree that the glue needs to be stronger also and that there is excess shedding from this machine sometimes and then sometimes not so there is a degree of unpredictability. My clients who have had the system loved it but sometimes they would shed sometimes they wouldn't so they have swopped over to shrinkies. Also it states on the Hibraid website that the bond is unaffected which is total crap, yes it is.
Well, I can see that the machine may work well for some but not for others,
I reiterate, If the bond is very small to become almost micro- no way can I comfortably flat iron it, or press it with a straightening comb, as the tiny bond will react to that heat contact.
I have AA hair, and I keep my hair from being dry, I am sure the same emollients used to remove the bonds are in my hair care products. OIL! I have to hydrate my hair or it breaks.
The video demo'd removal using olive oil, I use moisturizer daily in my hair down to the scalp. I viewed your link, and it clearly states that you use olive oil to remove the residue after the bond is thermally removed. I want to freely use any products I want to use to deep condition my hair with extensions secured in place. There is only one micro extension technique I can think of which makes this possible!
Most AA hair can not consistently go without moisture, did you know that?!
Atleast mine can't!!!

I am using Extend Magic for about 3 years now, I have 4 hairdressers with me that are using also this system. I do not really understand what you are experiencing with the system (negative side) but since I am using it it has been the most amazing and $$$$ thing that happend to us.
It is important to understand that this device is THE MOST lucrative on the market now. First it looks professionnal (not a glue gun) and you are not sticked with hair you do not like, you are in CONTROL. I use the best hair in the market, if I calculate the cost of the glue plus a pack of weft hair (the best quality) it will cost me around 90.00 to do the job and for a full head, normal thickness, it will take me approx. 2 hours to do it. I sell to the customer around 650.00. Can you do that much profit with your system? I do not think so. If you go with GL or Balmain, cinderella or these good hair system, you will pay around 2.50 to 6.00 per strands so honestly you have to sell double of price... Calculate, it cost you more, you have to charge more so you will make less hair extensions cause your customers won't have the money to have them on...
I do also sell the machine over Canada, I also give courses on how to use the system, as I explain to you you have to keep in mind that it is THE MOST PROFITABLE system on the market. You will pay more for the system at first but after one 1 1/2 head you will gain more money.
About negative topics, I understand what people are saying about shedding. Usually, and I experienced it, the problem is products the custumor is using (shampoo, conditionner, treatment) products that are too much rich, too hydrating and the way they are used is the key. I experienced many shampoo such as PANTHENE PRO-V, FINESS, ALBERTO V0-5, Treatments with pro vitamines and so on. I am always wearing extension with extend Magic and I did not have any problems with my bonds unless I was using these products or salon products that were too rich.
HEAT ON THE BOND. I did read that someone was not able to put heat on the bond... I can say that you can. Use the machine without the adhesive and you will be able to do so.
TOO FAR FROM SCALP: Not really, when you use the device correctly you should be able to put the hair extension to at least half centimeter from the scalp easilly. If too close it pulls the hair and damage the scalp, it is uncomfortable for the person that wears the extension.
Honestly for me a a bunch of person, the deveice is the most amazing thing that happend to us. It is quick (8-10 seconds a strand) and YOU CONTROL all of it.
How are you? I am Sang Lee from HiBraid, which brings ExtendMagic
EM is different with other method like GL.
It actually extends a strand of hair which is great...
With the proper training and expertise, you can use this machine for thin hair, hair loss and bald spot problem as well as length extension. Cuz this machine allows you to extend hair almost from scalp.
The following is Amalia's comment about the difference between GL and ExtendMagic.
-----
Hi Anna The difference between great length..is the bonds must be cut to size...or they make the .. size bonds to fit the need...extendmagic has many great features..such as ..you make your own bonds ..and the hair feels very light in the clients hair...the only down side I am facing with extendmagic..is the tape..for some reason...it breaks down very quickly..even if I leave it on for 10/15 seconds ..this makes no difference..after 2/3 weeks the bonds become very soft..this does cause a problem..because great length bond does not break down so fast..it can last up to 4 months without being re fixed...but after that.. they throw the hair in the bin..and buy new hair...where as your tool the hair can be re used over and over..the other down side with tape is the remove....it would be great if you developed a good bond remover for tape...the clean up takes to long...once you remove bonds and oil them ..the hair becomes tacky..and it takes ages to clean the clients hair and to ...put them back in...if you guys can fix this little problem...you will beat all other methods hands down...I personally love extenmagic...but with every new thing..sometimes..you some problems until you get it right...the only thing that needs to be addressed is ...how to remove the bonds easier..and the tape to be more strong....as for great lengths..it does not even come close to extendmagic...if you had some one with lots of money...and did the right marketing your tool would take over ....you guys would corner the market in hair extensions....people need to see it and trust me.. they would buy yours over any thing else....all you need is to give them my number...and I will tell them...training is a big part of it ...because if they don't understand how it works they back off..once it shown...they wanted..I know ..because I sold mine to others and they love it... I hope I have helped you.. if you wan more info..email; me any time.. Amalia
