Good question. A good 360 wave barber, in many instances, will cut the thicker parts of your hair/head, like the top and back, with a certain guard and then cut the sides with a higher guard, then trim. It is with finesse and skill that a good barber knows how to cut 360 waves. And this only comes with experience.
But, please note I'm generally speaking and that all hair textures are different and require different hair cutting techniques.

Also, the hair on your sides usually has a shorter length than the top and back. You have to compensate for that fact by communicating with your barber. He must understand how to properly cut 360 waves. The sides may need to be cut slightly longer than the top and back to maximize the visibilty of the connection.
Hmmm, makes sense but if thats the case, y do peeps get a 1.5wtg all around? Y not a 1 on the top, and 1.5 everywhere else? Just a thought...
