OK thanks for warning us about the rat!!!!!LOL
The bob you picked would look great on you. I've never used them but I think the microlinks or hairlocks may be the best. Fusion would work but being small enough not to show in the front and top they won't be able to withstand heat from hairdryers, curling/flat irons etc.

i think if you really want to do individuals the shrinkie will blend in better than a micro.

As far as size, its really best to have some on hand to test because it can be so had to judge by eye alone.

This is a link to Amanda's website, and scroll down, hmm, maybe 1/2 to 3/4 down the page, to I think about the 18th client. There's an install she did with 'microbonds' on a woman with a style like you've shown (the woman's result is a bit longer tho in front) Perhaps just seeing that it's been done, might help? I recall the pic, cuz it was such a unique install.
(I hope Amanda is ok with me providing the link for you...but it's been a great tool, as she does such great strand installs and color blending!)

Ok first off - i am NO amateur as far as extensions go. i've been extending my own hair for almost 3 years now! so far, i have used LG, fusion, microlinks, pinch braids, braids, and my last install was some nice DE dreads. i dont have much experience with shrinkies, other than getting a smaple of a couple one time, hence the questions below :) my own very short pixie cut is finally growing out, ive got it now to a blunt mid ear length dutch boy/short bob, louise brookes style, with short "bette" bangs and a clippered nape. something like this:

My goal is to eventually grow it into a chin length a-line bob, like this, except with the baby bangs:

I found this picture on the razorbits community on livejournal, done by the moderator, imflying. she extended the sides of a pixie into an aline, and i think that i'd like to trysomething similar on my hair:

what would be the best way to achieve this? small pieces of weft with protac or lg, loose extensions with shrinkies or microlinks? i'd prefer to have them be loose extensions i think, since its a bit more versatile for pulling back in barrettes and headbands and such. about how many do you think it would take, and how would i blend it in so it looked natural? also, i have human hair, 8-10", dyed black and purple (the colors of my hair) that I'm pretipping.  what is the size a pretip should be in order to fit in a normal sz shrinkie, in 1/16ths of an inch or millimeters? im worried because i made them pretty thin, for blending purposes, like 1/16th of an inch or smaller. and im afraid they will fall out of the shrinkie. i dont want to make them too thick tho, because then they will be more detectable. would i be better off using microlinks, or do you think they would fit in a shrinkie? thanks so much for any advice you might have to offer!!!!

~Jennifer~
