It`s possible the monoi oil is reacting with your fine hair. I never use more that a dime-size amount. If that is what you are using, try using it at night and washing it out in the morning. You will get the conditioning benefit but not the greasy look.

Hope this helps you. ;)

So I keep trying the monoi oil and it still looks incredibly greasy whenever i put it on. I don`t even use that much. Could it be because i have fine, thin hair. I can tell a difference though.

Thank you so much. I tried it myself and as usual always use more than needed so my hair got a little on the waxy side but since I tied it back it didn`t really matter. My hands feel really great too. I can hardly wait to use it again!

I have used Monoi Oil several times and always gotten excellent results. You can use it a couple of diffferent ways. You can pour a LITTLE of the oil into your hands and rub it in the ends of your hair. It will be absorbed almost immediately and not leave your hair greasy. The literature included with my Monoi Oil refers to it as "a rich, non-greasy emollient/moisturizer that penetrates quickly into the skin and acts as a natural barrier against dehydration." It will also be absobed into your hair very quickly.

With Monoi Oil, "less is definitely more". Be sure not to soak your hair in the oil, apply about a dime-sized amount to your ends.

I also have clients that have put it on their hair in the evening and then washed it out in the morning. They say it washes out very easily and leaves their hair very soft and shiny.

If you want to use it as a hot oil treatment: Warm your Monoi Oil bottle under hot tap water until it is quite warm. Apply generously all over your hair, especially if it is dry, dull or chemically damaged. Cover your hair with a plastic cap and with a towel to create a warming effect which will help the deep-conditioning process. Leave on for 30 minutes. Then wash your hair thoroughly.

Also, some women use the Monoi Oil as a moisturizer for their face and body with very good results.

Good luck and I hope it works very well for you! :)

I just recently purchased some monoi oil and can hardly wait to use it. My problem is I`m a little unsure of the best way to apply. Like before I shower at night or is it better to put it on after I shower. How often and exactly how much. I want to make sure it`s actually helping and not hindering since I`m having enough problems with my hair at the moment anyways.
