He's probably thinkin that his waves'll look flattened/ not dipping (because that's what happens to your hair with other products...and he probably thinks that it'll be worse cuz ljot is a holdin product).
 
but that's not the case. i usually do that if i'm goin somewhere important  (church, etc) the next morning. but i usually brush with a softy for a sec then put the du rag back on (waves won't be as "flat")

I wouldnt use it, just use a moisturizer. but its ur decision
