I agree with femmemuscle your products seem fine but you just need to add a water based moisturizer

i, too, like the olive oil creme by ORS, no mineral oil..also the carrot oil creme is great for split ends, just put the creme on the split ends, and it works - over time..

also, if you use a protein deep conditioner, remember to follow it up with a light moisturizing conditioner, if you don't,   your hair will be hard..Humectress is a great moisturizer, and can be used as a leave-in after washing...if you use it on pressed hair? it will revert..

a great deep conditioner, that most folks like is the ORS hair mayonaisel, i see mixed reviews on it, but i like it a lot..my beautician is always complimenting me on my hair progress since coming out of a weave..i definitely attribute it to the products that i've mentioned..

also, every once in a while when you do a deep condition, do the egg thingie..mix the egg with the deep conditioner, it can't hurt...but don't forget to use a moisturizing conditioner afterwards..you'll see a differenceSmile..otherwise, the products you're using seem fine, alreadyl, digital..

This was one of the things i noticed about my hair as well when i relaxed it before. Your hair seems to need more moisture in the long haul. plus the cuticle of your hair seems to be open, thus the dull look. trying an acidic shampoo to get the cuticle to close.

you may want to look at using a good leave in moisturizer. Mane and Tail Hair Strengthener worked great.
Also pre-pooing with cholesterol was an added bonus too to help get the moisture going.

My hair is natural now and i continue to use Creme of nature Shampoo
Neutrogena Triple moisture, they are really good.

I tried neutrogena silk touch leave in a while back and really liked it...Also I noticed you only use oil for daily moisture...I remember reading something in one of sistaslick' tutorials about using a water based moisturizer first then sealing it in with oil...have you tried that?

By the way, I went on the avlon site and asked for free samples and they said they would be happy to send me some...you could try that to see if the salon stuff is worth the cost...

Here's the link to the form...

I just filled it in and begged for some stuff...can't hurt, right?   It's free!!Big%20smile

I use ORS olive oil in the jar then I seal with Kemi-oyl or vatika oil.  Also do you do protein treatments and deep conditioning.

Daily moisturizer? Since I've been wearing my hair rolled I usually apply hot six oil or design essentials oil to my hair. What do you use?

Hey Gang,

I guess everyone knows I can be a little Anti-Stylist sometimes. But the longer I stay away from the salon the more my hair seems to misbehave. After a re-touch I can wash a few times and it looks great. But after like the 3rd time it starts to look a little dull. Maybe I should just start buying professional products online some kind of way.

What products seem to work best for 4a or 4b hair?

Right now I"m using the following:

Creme of nature Shampoo
Neutrogena Triple moisture weekly deep conditioner
Dudley's setting lotion
Then Design Essentials anti-itch scalp creme
Miss Clairol brown rinse (can't remember the exact color))

It's very dry and a little brittle right now.

I wish I could take mini cosmetology course on hair.
