I think the flocked velvet rollers are nice.  I think I got mine at Walmart. 
 
It helps to spray each section with a light mist of hair spray before you roll it on the hot roller.  Let the rollers cool completely before you take them out.

Can anyone suggest a good set of hot rollers for hair extensions?  My own hair is pretty fine and doesn't hold a curl very well, so that is somewhat of an issue.  I am looking for the big, bouncy, curls.  Thanks!
