They have all of the professional bleach, dyes, developers from goldwell to clairol. I get what ur saying, i've been getting my hair bleach to blonde since i was 10 years old, im now 22. I do have some experience although im not a professional. I'm a level 3 to pale blonde, white blonde.
I recommend goldwell, its gentle and it doesnt have an odor, the developer and the bleach will cost you about $30 each. Just watch out on the bleach, dont leave it in too long or overlap, this can cause breakage. I've had a professional hair stylist break my hair and turn my hair lavender. I get my hair done by proffesionals and sometimes on my own.
It takes knowledge to do hair but its not rocket science!

I've been reccemended L'oreal Platinum paste - but so far I can only find it in the UK, does anyone know where I might be able to find it here in the states? Or does anyone have a website where I can purchase professional products (beyond whats available at Sallys) w/o a license? Specifically I've heard good things about Wella Blondor, Swartzcoph, and a long time fave of mine has been Aveda. Any suggestions of comperable products that can be found at Sallys would be great too.

I'm doing a strip through bangs going from about a level 2n. If you have nothing more to say other than 'see a professional', please don't respond - I don't mean to be rude but its not an option and I have access to family who are professionals if it really comes down to that, but I'm very experienced in hair color and would prefer to do it myself, I have control issues LOL
