Yeah thats too much to lose that quick. I had that issue with Hairlocs to some degree. When you say the hair was bad, do you mean the texture was not properly matched or it was tangly or what? How was it holding up to showers?
OOps thought I responded to this but I guess i didnt send it. Do you mean the same stylist that did your micros is now doing the tracks? Or you just hope they are less expensive? They are less expensive then getting any strand by strand method and they take hardly any time compared with that. Hopefully she does the removal for free. I think she should at least do that because you barely had them in any time and seemed to have a lot of issues and wern't that happy. I dont know how that works though because it sounds to me at least like the actual product of Short to Long was faulty and the hair was shedding out of the links. So maybe thats not her fault but its also not yours. Well good luck and it might be more trouble then its worth to pursue it and just move on and get something you like.
I am hoping and insisting she doesnt charge me for taking them out, not only is the hair bad, but after 2 weeks alot of bonds were slipping out, she fixed them but i still lose 2 or three a day still.
Yeah its seamless. Im not going to ask what a lace front is as Im sure there is a ton of threads on it but it looks damn good.

I paid for the hair with my CC through short 2 long, she had a brochure. I think when she is taking these out with all the strands missing from some which I had saved, she is going to send them back. She has never had to send them back before so it will be a first time. We have not really discussed any costs or refunds yet and all I am hoping for is a no charge to take them out and a good deal for putting a few tracks in. So to answer your question I guess I did waste some money.

Sourgirl im glad you decided to go with the sew in wefts. I was confused before when you posted you couldnt get it. Its always good to get a second opinion on these things. My hair is fine and the tensil strength is probably not so good but Im holding 3 tracks with ease. I think you will do fine. Worse case scenerio, for some reason its not working, just get it taken out right away. The nice thing about a sew in is its snip snip ravel ravel and its out. Not like all that bond removal.
PS: Wow those pics of Divas hair are amazing! There is no way I would have guessed that was not her hair!
Sourgirl, have you posted pics of your hair yet? If you show us how it is now and how you want it to look, it would be easier for us to help you to choose all you need to install. DivaVocals and Sherrie are the weave divas so you may want do ask them about the best places to get them.
www.MYMANEATTRACTIONS.COM has great reviews on all of their products and are very reasonably priced. They also sell skin wefts at a ridiculously low price. www.perfectlocks.com sells handtied wefts but I think the only review here was a negative one, not for the hair or the handtied method but because of the hair length. She ended up having to cut 5" of unusable length off the bottom. I don't think that's usual though, she cut it so I don't think she was able to return it. Always by longer than you need with single drawn, they're measured by the longest part of the weft even if most of the weft is a shorter length.
I went to two places and it was an african american salon(s) and they looked at me kinda weird and they kept saying I dont know. I talked to my stylist who is African american who did the micro like install and she said lets try the sew in with a few micro's to cover any see thru spots so thats what I am going to try, At this point I am open to anything to see what works and what doesnt work for me. I work about 60 hrs a week so being in and out of a salon all the time is not and option. Also MSHONEY do you know of any stores that carry hand tied wefts? Or should I just order online?

I agree with Asinnamon. Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't do to your hair. Unless it's extremely fragile or damaged you can wear just about any technique out there but you may have to combine a couple of them.
The skin wefts seem to be a great technique that can go very high up on your crown and remain undetectable. Asinnamon has pics posted here, I'll find them for you if you like.
As I said before, anyone who knows how to braid can braid your hair.

I'm interested too on the reason why you are not a candidate for weft installs? As far as a sew in, you should be able to find a salon doing them. Just ask questions, I'm sure you are not the first white gal to want a sew in. Sometimes the braider will use a synthetic hair to help give bulk to your own hair within the braid and sometimes they use little dental rubberbands too. Like I said, just ask plenty of questions and go over after care with them. Like with any other method, you want to be comfortable with your installer and what to do when you leave the salon.
You should also be able to get your extensions trimmed/cut at any extension place. Sometimes braiding salons don't cut due to cosmetology laws within thier state. A quick phone call should give you an answer.
And there are a variety of DIY methods, like Sherrie said, that you can easily acheive wonderful results with.
As far as hand tied vs. machine weft, the choice is yours. Hand tied wefts are very thin and are easier to hide, but you can't cut them or you risk them unraveling. Machine wefts are bulkier, but you can safely cut them to the width you need.

sourgirl, did they tell you WHY you were not a candidate for weft method? And have you considered a DIY method? There are plenty of DIY weft methods or individual methods that can be successfully installed by a DIYer if you are so inclined.
