I have a sew in with 3 wefts and I am enjoying it immensely. Diva explained how they work so I won’t go into all that but I prefer them to bonds because they don’t come out. They need to be tightened every so often but any extensions method needs that. They are quick, simple and easy to deal with. Plus they cost almost nothing compared with any of the strand by strand methods.
I had three tracks done and that only cost me $100. I just had them tightened and that was only $50 so I’m happy as a clam.
However, I did spend quite a bit on very nice virgin hair but since I was saving so much, I’m still coming out ahead.
My advice is give sew ins a try and see if you don’t love them. If you dislike it for some reason, simply have it removed and you will only be out a few bucks.
The only way you would not like them would be if you are extra sensitive to the feel of something around your head like say a hat or a bandanna but it takes about 12 hours for the feel to go away.
Yes Paula Jayne, your hair is braided.. It has to braided so you can sew the wefted hair to the braid.. Your hair isn't going to "look braided".. What I said in my first post was that you can either leave hair out to blend OR you braid all your hair away and your stylist can close off and finish the style using a variety of techniques.. A sew in is very simply when your hair is cornrowed and the tracks are sewn to the corn rows.. I have been wearing them for years, and I love them..
When the stylist says "whole head" ask him to clarify this for you so you are sure what he means.. This can either mean your entire head is braided away with NONE of your hair out or it could mean MOST of your hair is braided away and the crown area left out to blend with the extension hair.
Of the two ways to do a full weave, the second is my preferred method ifI am leaving my own hair out. Full weaves (with all your hair braided away) without a closure looks too wiggy IMO.. I will only do a full weave with NO hair left out ONLY if I am wearing a closure in order to look natural. (a closure mimics a natural part)
$300 for a full sew in install is a fairly decent price (IMO) IF the cost includes: wash and conditioning of your hair, braiding, sewing, and the cut and style.
$200 COULD be a decent price for the partial sew-in, but it depends on how much of your head is beig braided, and if the cost includes the washing/conditioning and cut/style..

I had Great Lengths fusion before those are gone now.
A salon nearby here will do sew ins for $200.00 and then I buy the hair from teh local place (real hair) for about 65.00 depending on how much hair, also he will charge $300.00 for a whole head of them instead of partial
Anyone with sew ins? Can you explain them, also how do you like them
