Why not buy a NewHair wig itself, instead of making one at home? The quality of the NewHair wigs are great, they will last you for a while, so you will save money in the long run. Doing it yourself and then not being happy with that sounds like a false economy to me! Check out www.newhairwigs.net to buy a NewHair wig.

woops. i just read my wig instructions for washing.
which i didnt follow.
i just washed it in the shower with my regular shampoo and didnt condition it.
the wig instructions say you should wash with a wig shampoo + not in hot water - just warm.

do you think this is why my wig is like barbie hair already?
Yep.. Regular shampoos and conditioners will not work on synthetic wigs, and can make 'em look worse.. TDI makes a line of products for synthetic wigs and hairpieces which are AMAZING.. I resurrected a synthetic ponytail using their shampoo and conditioner made for synthetic hair..

Hi there

I recently bought a cheap £25 wig on ebay and cat the parting off to make it like one of those 'new hair wigs'

it worked really well looked really good. only problem is the quality of the wig.

it was nice for the first 2 days. now im on day 5 its like barbie hair.

is there anything i can do to prolong the life of it? ve been putting serum in it but its still a mess.

the wig itself is made from kanekolon fibres. it seems to me that most wigs are made of this cheapp material.

to buy a new wig at £25 a shot every week is going to work out wayyyy to expensive.  i was looking at human hair wigs, but then you cant tell the quality of that hair either. i doubt its going to be anyhwere near as good as my usual bohyme extensins.

does any one know of any places that do thermofibre wigs? or generally just higher quality wigs?
