Hey Kid...if there is one addiction I would love to have it is this one!!! I started getting interested in extensions and snooping around here 2 years ago and did my very first install in March. After that I was hooked and caught myself thinking "Where has this been all my life, how could I have missed this opportunity for so long!" You're going to have a lot of fun with your new hair! Welcome to the addiction, detoxing is going to be a bitch!

thank you Karen for the compliment and the welcome! I will be posting alot until I get the hang of this. I am only on my first install and I am already addicted to the whole process! Its good to be a part of the action.
looks great, looks like you have a really good match with texture! Is your hair naturally curly?
I prefer the tapes too! Its such an easy install.
I am not sure I would use the coconut oil for removal, it may be difficult to get the coconut oil off the tracks to reuse them. Since coconut oil is solid when at room temp, and liquid when warm, it might get trapped in the threads and hair of the weft and be a real PITA to get clean.
I might be wrong about this and Ive never tried it....
Rocket22 - u have a point there - we all do alot to our hair and it seems to be ok. I am probably gonna give the tape a try for my next install. Thanks again for everything.
Malibu - thanks! I am happy with the curl and the color too. I was worried about coloring it but it turned out alright.
milachkaa - good to know that tape might be easier than LG (since Im new at this - easier is THE way to go for me!)
I should have mentioned: i have 4 rows, euro curl 18"

Hi KidRobot!!! I'm soooo happy that hair is working out for you! I think the curl match it pretty right on! I personally love, love, love the tape!!! I would give it a whirl, you can always try it once and if you don't like it then go back to the sew-ins. I know some people are worried about the orange oil, but I have a sensitive scalp and what I do is put a heavy olive oil or conditioner on before the orange oil and then use only a tiny bit of the orange oil to get them out and that has not given me any problems!!! if you think of all the other crap we put on our hair and scalp daily, (sprays, products etc..) and we are fine, not to mention the bleaching, coloring, etc we do as well
Current Install: European hair two rows triple wefted on bottom double wefted on top, with Protac

I started out with tapes and was not crazy about them...and went to LG instead...however now I just did an install with tapes and I like them more now! Tapes are DEFINTLEY easier than LG...and I used Acetone and Goo gone to remove the tapes...but for me goo gone works better than the acetone so i just stick with that...

I Love your install! And the curl matches great!! I think you should try the tapes. A lot of people use them and it's more affordable. Some people use thick conditioner to remove them. I'm sure you'll get more advice from the tape wearers!

So after much wanting to do it and then talking myself out of it - i got an opportunity I couldnt refuse. I bought some hair and decided to go with sew ins. I purchased two different colors. One of the colors wasnt quite right so i dyed it a light brown to try to match my own. The other color was blonde and i thought it might match the highlighted tones in my hair so I left that alone. I am happy with it all (color, length, hair and sew ins) and i know i wont be able to go back to short hair since i luv this length so much. I want to try the tape method with wefted hair. has anyone used coconut oil to remove the tape? I hear coconut oil is good for the hair and thought maybe if it would work it might be a better alternative to goo gone?
