QuoteReplyTopic: Can I do extensions in any salon? Posted: October 07 2007 at 12:55pm
I was taking to my friend who owns Aphrodite's Salon in Puyallup, WA and she is looking for an apprentice to help her with her hair extension business. Here's the link:
the best thing to do is first get trained in extensions, get two or three methods of training and have certifications too.
if you are a booth renter, yes you can do extensions there. As a renter, you can do any type of hair services where ever you work. Extensions, straightening, perms colors etc.
how many hours do u have right now.
great luck to you!!
choose your salon with care, go in there as a client, get a wash and style see if you could see yourself working there. Check out the owners, the staff, what do they offer.
Most salons offer back bar, towels, beverages for clients, and some do provide receptionist.
what hours are they open, do you get a key. there is alot to consider when looking to park your scissors. choose carefully so your not one of those stylists that bounce around alot, clients dont like that.
girls ijust wanted to tell u that I train for hair extentions and it certainly is profitable but time consuming have an assistant and be fast.....my company helps with all these questions and join our network...u have sooo much potential as a stylist doing extentions shoot me an e-mail ok god bless
I'm selfish, impatient, & a little insecure, I make mistakes, I am out of control, & at times, hard to handle. But if you cant handle me at my worst, then you sure as HELL dont deserve me at my best

If you are renting a chair, you are an independent contractor. You can perform any serice for which you are licensed for under your state's cosmetology ordinances.
One thing I REALLY want to specialize in is extensions once I graduate beauty school...
So say... if I decided to rent a booth in a salon that doesn't have a reputation for providing extension services, could I do extensions on my clients? Isn't booth renting basicly a mini business within a salon, (pick my hours, my pricing ect?) or are there regulations to follow and what services I can and cannot offer?
the reason im asking is because there is only 1 salon in town that does extensions that i know of, and well, if I don't get hired there than I still want to do hair extensions.
