QuoteReplyTopic: is this bob cute or too boyish? Posted: November 03 2007 at 9:42am
Not boyish at all, but the back screams mushroom cut to me. Wouldn't it start to look weird after a few weeks? I'm thinking it would need frequent touch-ups.
I like the front (and the sides are probably nice too), but I'm very partial to the back. Reminds me of all those mushroom cuts my mom forced on me when I was 6-10 yo.
And who wears glasses like that, on the tip of their nose :P
The back should be taperd into an vee at the bottom. Also the picture is to dark to see how the hair line at the optical area lays. I feel that it should be not so severe and should have used texturizing shears to rid of the bulk. Looks to me like they just cut a line with the clipper as if a "mushroom cut" and forgot to come back and finish it. I hate to be negative but thats my view.
Save for the blocked nape (as most others commented), I like it. Very cute, not boyish at all. Tapered at the nape would look much better than blocked.

I like the back and agree with Loveshorthair that more blending may suit this style better. However the front looks a little severe on the lady in the picture, but i think this is due to her glasses. So i was thinking bangs, maybe an option but i'm not sure how Kim would feel about that. I think Kim has successfully carried off bobs with and without bangs in the pasts, so i can't see it being an issue.
Just as long as you are both happy with what you are going to do then have fun
All the best

Certainly not boyish. However I am not sure that it would really compliment Kim. While I love short hair I think she actually looks better with a little bit of length. Just the shape of her face and the way she carries herself in the limited pictures I've seen.
For years I've been talking my wife into cutting her hair short because I really like short hair in general. Most of the time she dreams of long hair like Beyonce. Its taken a long time for me to realize that for her and a lot of women, because they can't get their hair fixed all the time, don't have stylists and wear designer clothes, that the middle lenghts are more flattering on a day to day level.
IMHO I would resist the urge to get her to cut more and more just because you like short hair. She looked great with a dramatic shoulder length cut with a lot of style.
Of course you and her can take this advice and toss it out. It's your preferences that count.
Its great that your wife is such a good sport.
