I wouldn't dye it, dyeing it always makes more of it fall out. Usually its not noticeable and people don't worry about it that much, but it does happen, so if your hair is already too thin, I would not try it.
I agree with Jules, you should get bloodwork done at the doc to rule out any of the common medical causes, such as thyroid probs or vitamin deficiency.

No,but you could try NIOXIN 3 step system. Usually you can find it at hair salons. It's a shampoo (cleanser), conditioner (moisterizer),and a scalp spray.
It is specificly meant for people with thinning hair, and it really does plump the hair up big time! It is also supposed to help regrow it.
Dont be alarmed if you start using it and notice a bit more shedding at first. It is just getting rid of hair that is no longer growing. It contains biotin and alot of other ingredients known to stimulate the scalp and help hair grow.
If your scalp starts to show and that is bothersome, going blonde might make you feel better as with blonde you dont have that dark hair, light scalp issue. Also blonde can make hair feel a bit more course instead of baby fine.
You may also want to go to a doctor. A simple vitamin deficency could be the problem.
And one more thing...how often do you use the aphogee? I may be wrong, but I think aphogee is protein? Too much protein is bad for your hair as well and could make it fall out. Maybe try to stop using it and see if it helps?
Dont worry, there are many causes of hair thinning, and I'm sure you will find out that what is causing it and your hair will grow back.
You may want to try some soy milk as well. There is no real evidence yet,but several websites I have read say that soy helps people with hormonal hairloss issues. Apparently it blocks DHT (male hormone known to cause baldness).
hi all! don't know if this is a question better asked in the hair loss forum, but because it's about dyeing the hair, i thought i'd give it a shot.
it's been some time since i posted. i enjoyed a full year of glossy, thick and voluminous hair after discovering aphogee. my hair was getting compliments all the time. then, starting this july, it started to fall out at the root. the hair strands (due to the aphogee, i think) are still strong, so it's not breakage. it's hair falling out, with the white bulb at the end. i was hoping it was some regular shedding, but it is still happening and now my hair is about 40% less dense. i cry everytime i brush it and wash it and see my long hair going down the drain.
here is the hair color question: i used to dye my hair with natural instincts black. because of the hair falling, i've stopped dyeing. i have about 3 inches of regrowth in my slighly lighter golden brown color. the regrowth is very soft and shiny, but also VERY fine. as in, you can see through it to the scalp when my hair is wet (hence, the hysterical crying).
do you think that using natural instincts or some sort of "gentle" dye will cause this limp, fine root to plump up? or is it too risky to put that on my head and then aggravate the hair loss? any thoughts/recommendations?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!! [IMG]smileys/smiley1.gif" align="middle" />
