Find a better stylest!!!!!!!!!!!! She should have told you this is a light as SHE can get you! Be prepared to pay for a good job but if thats not a problem you should expect to get almost any color you want! As the above poster said, this shold be a 2 step process, one to strip the color from your hair the second to give you the color you want. DO NOT COVER A BAD COLOR JOB, GET IT RIGHT!
Hi Jane I am not a pro but have some experience with bleachingand being bleached. It was not your fault. In my opinion it was HER fault. A pro would have known exactly what to do for you. She simply did not lighten you enough, that is why you turned orange. You must be bleached to yellow or pale yellow depending on how light you wanna go.Then a toner is usually put on the bleached hair. Thats how you get a more natural looking blonde color. Also, foil highlighting would have looked better. It`s a more precise application than the cap. It sounds like she pulled to much hair through the cap.I am sorry to hear that it did not turn out right for you. She will probably put a darker semi perm color over the whole head and try to highlight you again. Alot of colorists do this BUT it is better for your hair if she seperates out the lighter parts that you want to keep first (put them in foil)and then put the semi on the other parts. It will take longer to do it this way and is harder to do technically but she should be willing to do whatever it takes to get your hair corrected. If not, find someone who specialises in coloring hair. It doesnt sound like she has had many clients that are bleached. You could give her a chance to fix it but I would run to another person who just does color and bleaching. Good luck Jane!
Ok, to make a long story short...I have naturally brown hair (pretty dark). I usually get natural highlights that look good but are not very noticable. My hubby usually can`t even tell. Well, with summer here, I thought I would be daring and go lighter. I told my regular stylist that I wanted lighter highlights. She said there was only one tint lighter I could go and she would pull out larger chunks (through the cap). Well, let`s just say that my hair look MUCH lighter EVERYWHERE and it has an ORANGE look to it! It`s awful!
So, my stylist said she could darken it for me on Tuesday (Tuesday can`t come soon enough). BUT, I am worried. What is she going to do? Should she use the cap again and just darken it this time (I don`t know how she could possibly pull through all the same orange hairs) or should she dye my whole head darker? I have heard that tinting can cause it to look grey so I`m a little worried about that too.
By the way, I don`t blame my hair stylist for this. It was my fault to tell her to go that light...apparently hair as dark as mine tends to go GOLD or ORANGE instead of blonde.
