Hello,
If you hair is very thin and currently is falling out, I would say that you are not a candidate for extensions.
If you add an extension piece that is too thick and heavy for your natural hair to support, you most definately could get 'root pull' where you hair is pulled out from the root. If you do this for a period of time, the hair follicles can be permanently damaged, and you may get bald spots.
For clients with hair loss who are not yet ready for a hair piece, I try to encourage them to wear clip in extensions. I custom make them for my clients and show them how to put them in so they are secure. Clip ins are less stressful to the hair since you are not wearing them 24/7.
What's the best method of installing and which are the best extensions for very thin hair that already falls out a lot? Is it true getting extensions thicker than your natural hair texture adds extra weight and makes you shed more?
