QuoteReplyTopic: not sure what to do about going gray Posted: June 11 2002 at 8:08pm
Hi Maureen, My grays are coming in fast too and I`m 28! If you do decide to color you will have to keep doing your roots every month. It`s really not that big a deal. I have been coloring my hair since I was 12. Please understand that just because you color your hair it does not mean it will be in really bad condition. :)
My mother has about 60% gray and uses L`Oreal( the drugstore brand). It gives good coverage to the gray/white hair. I use professional products from a beauty store called Sally`s Beauty. I don`t know if they have one where you live but check out there website. It`s great! There is a question/answer section that could help with some questions you may have. They sell to the public. Professional hair dyes are made of higher quality ingredients and have a more consistant dye lot.
When you do dye your hair you must use products for color treated hair from then on. Redken shampoo and conditioner is good, L`Oreal is good too. I like there deep conditioner. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Hello Everybody, I am 35 years old and I`ve never colored my hair before. It`s going gray at a very fast pace, and I`m undecided what to do. I don`t want to be gray at my age, but I don`t want to be locked into the constant coloring to cover them up. Does anyone know of a very safe over the counter brand that works well to cover the grays and is also safe for the hair? Do I want healthy gray hair or not so healthy non gray hair? I`m hoping for both!
Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions.
