Try Giovanni Smooth and Silk conditioner. I have thick hair but I bought it because it promised to make my hair smooth and silky, which it didnt. LOL. It really bulked my hair up so it might work on yours. And it does leave the hair feeling somewhat soft....you could experiment with it.

I guess for longer hair you might need a light conditioner for the ends and to detangle. You would need to experiment and see what works best for you. I usually only use conditioner in the winter when the air is a bit dryer. It is so humid where I live in the summer that conditioner is just bad and I use a wide-tooth comb to get through the tangles. Blow drying, damaging though it can be, is really the best way to get some volume into fine hair. Those huge velcro rollers work well too. Just stick a few of them in, run a blow dryer over your hair, take them out, and run your fingers through. It may look too big at first but that will only last a few minutes. Mine usually relaxes back to straight within a few minutes but seems to have more volume throughout the day after I use them.

Thanks guys. Anything is a good idea right now. Although I do need to use some sort of conditioner or my ends will just get too dry. So would a spray or wash out conditioner be better. I have both. Don`t really blow dry my hair too much because I`m lazy and afraid i`ll damage it too much and have to get it cut. I do have a hair appointment this saturday for a color and will be asking for their opinion as well. It`s a reputable salon I think. Haven`t been there yet but seen people who have and they have great hair.

I have extremely fine hair(:Djust in case you wanted to know). I use the Graham Webb Infusion shampoo, and the conditioner. I have to use a good conditioner(even though everyone says it`s a bad idea to use conditioner on fine hair)or else my hair will be really hard to comb out, and I end up ripping out a bunch of hair. I also use Bed Head Superstar, which is this cool-smelling stuff you comb through your hair and then you blow-dry to thicken up your hair(it works fairly well). It works fairly well for me, my hair isn`t near as thin-looking as it used to be, although it still is compared to most people:(. I don`t think there is any real fix for fine/thin hair, you just have to live with it.

There isn`t much you can do, especially at this time of year. Have you colored your hair? Sometimes that can help although I have fine hair and it usually only works for me for about three days. Other things to try are clarifying shampoos and shampoos for oily hair. I haven`t found that the volumizing shampoos work very well for me. They still leave me oily looking and flat by the end of the day. Also stay away from conditioners and hair products of any kind, even those that are supposedly for fine hair. They will only make things worse for you. Sometimes a very light mist of light hairspray can help but you`ll have to experiment to find those that won`t weigh you down. I have had good luck with Ban de Terre hairsprays.
A word of advise though. Don`t cut your hair. Long flat hair is much better than short flat hair and it is really a pain to grow it back out. I know. I am doing that right now.

I`m getting frustrated here. I`ve tried so many products that my head is spinning. My hair is fine and a little on the thin side and I`ve been growing it for about two years now. it`s almost to my shoulder blades. The thing is most products weigh and flatten my hair so much it just looks horrible. I almost went and got it cut short last week out of frustration. So anyways I was hoping that someone would know of a good volumizing regime that can help. I`ve tried pantene, biolage, hydron, progaine, and tons of other things.
