can i dye over dyed hair?

Lyris is totally right.Did you put it over virgin hair? If your hair can take it you can color it again. Remember that you will be putting a color over another color so try to fade the tint that you don`t like as much as you can so you can get a true shade.Otherwise your roots will be a slightly different shade than your lengths when you do your regrowth. Use a clarifying shampoo and some hot oil treatments.Hot oil usually fades color.Dandruff shampoo really fades color alot too.
I LOVE red hair. I use the pro line of L`Oreal called Mega Reds....shade numer 3 mixed with light Auburn in a two to 1 ratio. It is the color of Judy Garlands hair in the Wizard of Oz.I have level 6 dark blond/light brown hair naturally.Red is the most difficult color to keep from fading. So, in a way your lucky! It will probably fade pretty quick. If you have ANY more questions on red hair please let me know. :) My mother also dyes her hair red/auburn so between the two of us we have tried alot of shades.

i dyed my hair last night with l`oreal feria [permanent.. i think that colour is auburn blonde].. i was attempting to go for a vibrant red, but instead, the colour`s turned out horrible. it looks like a faded redish-brown.. very ugly.

i was wondering if i can dye over it with another colour? or will that just create a bigger disaster?
