You have it right, but I wouldnt rinse it out of your hair before coloring. The protein coats the hair and fills in weak (porous) spaces during coloring, which is why you get even color results.
The way I normally do it is,I coat my hair with the protein, making sure to try to get even all over.I leave it on about 15-20 minutes, then add the hairdye over top.
If I'm just doing roots or touching up,I cheat and just add some into the hair dye bottle.

Hi ladies ,So i decided i wanted to put my hair back as close as possible to my natural color .My hair is a med auburn now and i plan to use color fix and then recolor a medium golden brown. My hair is quite pourus so i bought colorful protien color filler #2 warm brown . I'm looking ayt the directions on the filler and well it gives options for when coloring (doing new growth ,refreshing and when wanting to remove ash tones from already colored brown hair. What i need to know is when and how to use this after stripping the color (auburn )off my hair . I'm assuming i put this filler on my hair after i'm done stripping, rinse and then proceed with my new color . Is that right or am i ass backward on this one. Just wanting to make sure when i color that it goes on as evenly as possible.-thanks alot
