they have the glasses with the lights on the side-I think i saw them on amazon.com if you lose your ventilating needle, i heard you can take a regular one and snap it where the hole is with a pair of dykes or pliers and use it. the styrofoam head are 2 bucks at sallys
what I wanna know is where can I get the lace and hair for making a wig??? even though it looks tedious, I really wanna see if I can do it!
I bought bulk human hair from the bss in the same color and texture as the unit I'm repairing.

Be careful and check in direct sunlight. What looks like a dead on match inside may look jacked up when you style or "activate" the hair if its curly. The last thing you want is to spend 70 hours tying a wig only to have the textures/colors be off. Trust me I know. Even a little is noticeable outside. HTH
Don't jump on the magnifying lamp band wagon just yet. some of the great ones can be very expensive and for my personal experience with the magnifying lamp, it just got in my way because when you ventilate, you are suppose to always ventilate going "forward" so that the hair lays properly and my hand kept on bumping the dog-on mag-lamp....it just got in my way.
Some helpful hints 1. Get 3x reading glasses instead. 2. Make sure you are in a well lit room
3. Make sure your chair, table, wig holder are set up like you are positioned to do an oil painting, meaning the area that you are about to ventilate is at least torsoe-length or higher from where you are sitting (believe me it makes a difference on your back).

Hey I want to jump on the ventilating band wagon too. I have to get a magnifying lamp first.
When I get home i will post the link to the youtube video. I also have instruction, so pm me if you want them. I think the key is the magnifying lamp. For those of you who have them, how much did you pay for it?
I paid about $15.00 for mine. It has a light built into it and can be worn like a necklace so that both hands can stay free while you work.

I will learn how to do this hopefully this summer. Well with gas prices going up daily. That may cut down on my riding time and I can learn a new hobby.

I would love to learn how to ventilate. Can I info on how to ventilate, supplies, etc in the newbie thread? If not can you help a sista out with where I can learn how to do this and purchase the needed supplies. A PM would be fine also.
Whenever I order a wig, I request additional hair.
I tried to use the hair that I had thinned out of one wig to add temple are but I decided against it because I could not tell by looking which way the cuticle should go. So I gave up
