Hi Karissa, How much shedding did you have? if you only had the extensions in for a week, you really shouldn't have much shedding at all.....if it is a month, then sure you would have shed a lot of your own hair that would get trapped and not fall. Did you check the shed hair to see if you see a hair bulb? maybe the track was sewn in too tight....don't give up on them just yet. there are many happy extension wearers on this board who wear sew-ins and have been able to grow their own hair.

Thanks Fakeizme :) I knew there would be some shedding but I didnt think it would be so much hair I guess lol. I'm just going to keep conditioning it try minimizing the blow drying! By the way I never thought to try the tape - how is it?
Oh Karissa, don't get me started! I LOVE tape and liquid gold installs. They seem to agree with my hair too. what I mean, is that I don't seem to have any problems keeping them in or taking them out. i find that they are quite light, sometimes itchy, and are pretty darn secure. I just took my 4 week install down this afternoon with Goo Gone and 99% alcohol mixed with olive oil. It was so easy!! The only reason I don't wear them longer is because I do my roots (bleached blonde) every four weeks like clockwork, otherwise it becomes harder to bleach and waaaaay too much work! I wear skin wefts at the top, so everything blends in really well. The best part is, I can do my installs when I feel like doing them, not when I can get in to see my stylist. So much cheaper as well. OK...I've got to stop drinking this cooler.
Love clip-ins and tape!

Karissa, I don't think you should worry too much. Don't forget your hair sheds quite a bit naturally. All that hair gets caught in the braids and can't fall out when you wear a weave. I bet you it will calm down and stop very soon. Even when I wear tapes/LG, I see some shedding when I take it down. I just expect it. As long as it's not breaking, I don't see a problem.
Love clip-ins and tape!

I got hair extensions (sewn in) and left them in only for a week cause I couldn't stand the itching any longer. I took them out this past Monday and I have lost so much hair already. Is this normal? My scalp is still itchy but it has calmed down a lot and I am still losing some hair. Is this normal? Getting a little nervous here Thanks
