I know this is late, and I know you have probably already removed the hair, but latex is dangerous, it will thin and bring your hair out.
From a professional's point of view, I recommend the cap or the remover. And you are using the remover, conditioner will also have to be used. Goodluck
I have to admit, Im afraid of glue also and not eager to try it. Sew ins are very nice and they seem to stay in. Not to say that damage could never occur from them, if they are pulled too tight for instance but there are no sticky chemicals involved and thats my speed. I agree with Latta here.
GLUE IS A BITCH. IT HAPPENED TO MY ABOUT 3YRS AGO AND I WAS BALD BUT MY HAIR GREW BACK. TRY SEW IN, IT HELPS THE HAIR GROW AND YOUR OWN HAIR IS UNDISTURBED. GOOD LUCK

sorry to hear about this but i would.. use some olive oil or babyoil if you dont have any... i would heat it up and/or sit under the dryer with it!!!!! that will for sure loosen up the latex glue... i wouldnt attempt acetone with latex glue
then use a medium tooth comb then go back with a finer tooth comb to get it all out....

Just for the record most professionals consider Sally's Beauty Supply an inferior, low budget distributor of hair goods. I would never buy hair extension products there ever. It's good for buying combs and stuff like that, that's all I buy there.
A few of us non-pros view Sally's the SAME way!!

I hope you can get that out. What a hassle but we live and learn with this lol. Have you ever tried sewing your wefts in instead of glue? They stay in a while and only string is used so it has that advantage.

I'm sorry you had such problems. If you want to give hair extensions another try a good brand like Bohyme and use Liquid Gold and or the tapes to put it in.
Oh thank you so much Sherrie. I am sure glad I found this place. I feel like I am the only person in the world who has had a disaster. I have found a few posts where others were not happy...lol. Of course I would not wish this on my worst enemy but it is a little comforting to know that others have lived through this and have hair. My husband just went to get GOO-Gone so I am going to try that out. I went through a whole bottle of the Sally garbage and she's closed today and I need this out. BTW.. good for me but I don't know about anyone else here but I am a message board hog, so now that I found this place you might be seeing me quite a bit. I have found tons of information here in one place so far, that took me weeks and lots of websites with incorrect or false claims before. Thanks again and nice to meet you.

Hi Bobbi, I am so sorry about your experience, but hang in there girl and dont panic, the glue will come out. I have been in the same boat before with latex glue. Its nasty and a b!tch to remove. But it will come out, it just takes lots of patience. I am not sure about acetone for removal, I had never tried acetone back in the day when I used latex glue. But it cant hurt to try it. Really scrub it into the glue globs (use your fingertips and work it into the glue) then use a fine tooth comb to help comb the glue out. A good deep conditioner after the acetone should counteract any dryness you may get from acetone. if you are worried about it drying out your hair. (I use acetone regularly for removal of non latex glue, and dont have any adverse reactions or problems.)
Anything oily will work to remove latex. So if you bought the Latex remover that will work to break down the latex. Basically you put the remover on and let it sit for awhile, as long as you can stand. Again work it in, scrub it in with your fingertips and use a fine tooth comb to comb out the glue as it softens and gets gooey enough to comb out. Shampooo and repeat as many times as necessary. It will come out it just takes lots of patience, remover and shampoo!
Hi I am glad I found this place. I have been in extension hell for 4 months now. It started with a pinch braid disaster and now a Sally Beauty Supply disaster. I got some hair from Sally and it was so tangly and matted I was afraid to wait until next for fear if all my hair falling out. So i went and got the oil from Sally, spent 2.5 hours taking my wefts out, without pulling out barely a single hair (clap clap) but now my hair is coated with that nasty glue from Sallys, I tried acetone but my whole head is full of glue...how do i get it out? The oil must have just made the glue smear down my entire head. I do not even want to go to bed I am afraid that glue will dry and I will wake up bald. What can I do? Is it safe to cover my head with acetone to get it out, or at least comb the acetone through? I am sooo mad. I had that hair for 1 week and my own hair was coming out case Sallys hair was so coarse and split after one wash it tangled in my natural and was pulling it out. Will this glue be okay for the night or should I give it another acetone wash? What about Goo-Gone? I know there are two kinds...my husband has that real stinky stuff. Is acetone damaging. I mean I am not going to use it everyday, just to get this nasty mess out. I really need help. Thanks Bobbi
