Here is Clairol`s advice:

"Hair that has been permed or relaxed will be porous, so it is best to use hair care and styling products that are specifically recommended for these hair types. Plus, leave-in conditioning treatments will smooth the cuticles of hair that may have been stressed through chemical processing.

"It is perfectly all right to color your permed or relaxed hair. Just wait one week and give yourself at least one shampoo before coloring. Follow the directions for permed and relaxed hair included in package directions. "

Since you have waited 2 1/2 months, it should be safe to color now. Just get your hair in good shape first and use the right coloring product.

Good luck! :)

I had my weird hair (sorta straight underneath, but curly/frizzy on top...when it use to be straight as a kid) relaxed about 2 1/2 months ago and was wondering if it was possible to color it with an at-home kit. I`ve heard of horror stories and just wanted to know if it was safe enough to try without having to pay big bucks again, just to color it.
