I've done pinchbraids and also the Prohair technique on some of my clients before. I found that pinchbraids, the Hair Police technique, stay in very well on slippery hair since a thread is incorporated and then used to tie off the braid.
The size of the pinchbraid is a matter of personal taste. I was taught to take a section that is about 1/2" square and use that as your base.
thanks!
so the strands will be around the same sice as prebonded hair? iam just not sure how many braids we need to do, i had cinderella hair bevore and there i needed 180 strands.

If I remember correctly, Jenny (a forum member here) used to get these. Although, she did hers with synthetic. I haven't seen her post in a while, but maybe you could shoot her a pm and she if she's still around. If not, search for some of her posts, since she discussed them in some good detail.
ETA: forgive me, her screen name was : Jenny_RR

thanks, but i dont think i will have a problem with slipage, as i had pinchbraids synthetic hair bevore. it was done with the hairpolice method and they do a lots of caucasian hair, i guess!
just need to know how many braid she should do with human hair as i know you need more as with synthetic hair, beacuse of the fold over.
hope that make sense, my english is not the best as iam polish! sorry
I've not used this method but from what I've heard from people who have (a really close friend of mine) and from other stylists I can tell you that the concensus seems to be that on caucasian hair especially if it's straight/fine the pinchbraids can have a tendancy to slip. One stylists I asked about doing pinchbraids for me said that if she did she would use a drop of glue anyway because my hair is fine and straight but that I probably wouldn't be pleased.
So, I'm not saying don't do it, just wanted to pass along that piece of info so you can make your own decisions. I'm sure someone else can help you with the technical part of it much more than me! :) Have you considered having her braid or sew in wefts?
rockin' hair one head at a time!

just a few questions about pinchbraiding human hair. the girl living next door is african and very good in doing braids and dreadlocks so i asked her to do my bohyme hair with the hairpolice pinchbraid technique. i showed her some turtorials i found in the net and she think she can do that for me - only problem she dont know how many braids/strands she has to do and how big they should be.
can anybody whoe does that kind of extensions or has them installed give me some advise? there is nobody in my area doing that kind of extensions and i just dont want to ruine my hair with glue...
