*I read somewhere that most people, even if they always fall asleep on one side, usually {just naturally} move around alot when they sleep, so that you end up switching sides quite often throughout the night and you just naturally sleep quite alot on both sides. As I understood it, this happens with just about everyone. We don't remember doing this because we are of course sleeping. Some people just naturally have more curl on one side {or one part} of their hair than another. I don't have this problem I have very straight hair everywhere but I have known people that have that. It is natural, just like the natural part you may have in your hair. It just is.
*I think Dave is right, enjoy the uniqueness of your hair!

My hair is thinner on the right side of my head, I believe it is entirely because I tend to sleep predominantly on that side. I sometimes sleep on the other side so hopefully the right side won't get any more thin.
As for sleeping on one side making your hair more curly, I don't know if that could be the cause. Maybe it's more a result of what the hair is doing on that side. Do you sweep it up and back off of the pillow? Or do you just sleep with your face resting on your hair? If so you might be stressing it out more than you would if it were swept up off of the pillow.
Your ideas to use some products to make the sides match (either curly or straight) may work. And if not, consider yourself to have unique hair. Not too many people can say that they have straight hair on one side and curly on the other. Revel in your uniqueness.

I thought it was time to update this posting. I appreciate the replies/help/suggestions that have been posted. Based on what has been posted, I think that you might be right in the cause for my unusually wavy hair on the one side of my head - I have always slept on the right side of head, and that is the exact place where the hair is crazy - the right side going toward the back. And my hair does feel thinner on that side too!!! Wow! you guys are good! Now, if I can ask, what would can anyone recommend (apart from sleeping on the other side, which I am already doing by the way!) to fix this? Should I try some product to give it some volume? Or do I need to use some straightening product? If anyone can recommend a specific product that would be great! Like I mentioned before, my hair is normal/thick, so I need something strong! THNX. Much Respect!
My problem is that now that I've grown my hair out long I've come to notice that one portion of my hair (on the right side of my head) has this wicked wave going on, while the rest of it is straight and really nice. Has anyone else encountered something of this sort? Or better can anyone recommend a product/treatment that might help me put a permanent end to this? I just don't want to have to cut it all off after all this hard work!
