That is a great idea Scarlet! I will remember that (that is if I ever want to splurge and have someone ELSE do my extensions!)
Price of the application isnt always a reflection on the quality of the work, however on hair it can be.
Perhaps ask the suppler the quality of the hair, by which i mean the grade, for applied extensions nothing below a grade B should be applied because of factors like you have mentioned.
Lesson learnt maybe? Always if your unsure ask for a sample of the hair prior to application, that way you can get idea of the quality, wash it etc lol. Normally this shouldnt be a problem for the company.
Thats exactly it, and it smelled horrid! Like perm stuff or whatever. It looks so nice when she put it in. She gave me the left over hair, so I'll do a side by side picture tomorrow
Sounds like tha Sensationnel hair I had recently put in and taken out. Soft, pretty pretty big bouncy curls, once water hit it, smelt like a perm, color/dye was washing out and stunk and tha hair stretched out and was wavyish and itched like hell, only had it in for lil over a week it was driving me soo crazy
Yeah, I've heard very good things about Thermofibre, so if you read that it accepts non-peroxide colour and some heat, then it's probably true. There are some people I have read that prefer the Thermofibre over human hair & it's so cheap that you just replace after every install --- no cleaning!!! Woopee! I say go for it.
No. What I mean is the synthetic would be the best option for you if you like those bright colors. Why spend $50 on human hair that is already processed and probably not the best quality at that price and THEN color it again. If anything the pigment in the bright red probably did not cause a lot of damage. It might have even sealed it a bit. The damage would have already been done when the hair was lightened initially. That’s what I’m saying. I agree with the advice you have been given and to purchase synthetic hair if you like those color options. That’s what I meant by a more efficient process.
So if I understand you correctly. This hair that you bought was originally like a very pale blond I’m guessing? And then you colored it that bright red? Yeah, that doesn’t sound like the most efficient way to do this and I’m not really surprised this happened. Try the synthetic.
If you want to try synthetic (great choice for different colours!), there's WaWa (not bad and cheap), Thermofibre (used to be avail. at shrinkies.net) and augenmerk as well as another (which I can't remember the name of right now...uggggh). You should do a search here and you will find lots of references to those synthetics. They are all fairly cheap and have just about any colour you could want!
Yes, I was just about to ask. Okay forgive my ignorance but how would they get human hair that color? I mean would it start off as the lightest blond possible and then it is dyed that color? Isn’t that a lot of processing and wouldn’t it be much easier to use a synthetic hair like Frenchie suggested? Just curious because I’ve only ever worn natural shades.
I dyed the extensions myself, to match my natural hair, if that's what you're wondering.

Well as with many things, we get what we pay for. However, that does NOT give her the right to do anything illegal or rip you off. I would call her today, tell her there are problems with the hair (you can visually detect them) and see what she says. If she argues at all, ask her for the receipt for that hair and where she bought it from exactly. If she claims she doesn't have it or does not need to show it to you, then that’s a clue something fishy might have happened. She in the very least should be able to tell you where she purchased the hair from since there is a problem.
No, I didn't see her take it out of the packaging. Gahh, I pretty much just found a salon I could afford. She charged 35 for setting and 15 per track, which after reading around here I realized that's really cheap. I'm not sure if it was reputable, it was a pretty jank salon, but I try not to judge a book by it's cover, which I shouldve gotten out of there before spending anything.
Hey did you get to see this hair come out of its original packaging? Like Fakeizme mentioned, maybe she took your $50 and got like the worst possible crap from Sally and pocketed the rest? That would suck but I’m sure it’s happened. Was this salon reputable in your opinion?

Geez, that is frizzy! I don't think that's 'Remy' hair. I've never had hair do that or look like that and I don't wear really expensive hair & I wear the lightest blonde! You can definitely get better hair than that for a little more money. Love the colour, though --- rocks!
